Can A Palestinian Compromise Be found?

I do sincerely hope that my readers are aware of the situation in the Palestinian territories. If not then this post will make little sense to them.

I realize with the media attention being drawn onto this situation, it will be hard for some to contemplate some of the proposals that are offered here. Hamas according to the world is a terrorist org, but it was thrusted into a leadership role by participating in the election process, which the peoploe voted them into the role of leaders. For this reason an attempt needs to be made to include them in the process, for they were put into the fray by the democratic vote of the Palestinian people. For whatever reason that they were voted into power, they are a legit group. Yes, they seem to support terrorist aims and tactics, but there has got to be a way to include them in the political outcome.

I like the following tactics:

A more promising course would be for Fatah and Hamas to immediately cease hostile action against each other and begin to reverse steps that are entrenching separation between Gaza and the West Bank and undermining democratic institutions. In the longer run, they should seek a new power-sharing arrangement, including:

  • a clearer political platform, explicitly endorsing the Arab Peace Initiative;
  • a commitment to a reciprocal and comprehensive Israeli-Palestinian ceasefire;
  • reform of the security services, to include de-factionalisation and integration of Hamas’s Executive Security Force;
  • reform of the PLO, expanding it to include Hamas and Islamic Jihad;
  • formation of a new unified government approved by the parliament; and
  • consideration of early presidential and legislative elections, although not before one year before the establishment of new government.

To facilitate this, Arab states and other third parties should offer their mediation and monitoring of any agreement. If an agreement is reached, the Quartet should be prepared to engage with a new government politically and economically.

Peace has got to be found for the region, there has been enough death, destruction and suffering.

Racially Accepted

I have been watching and thinking about the dating sites that we see on TV and on-line. The one that really caught my eye was e-Harmony. The say for $39 and the filling out of a questionaire you to can find your perfect mate. Well look at the site, from what I have read is that at least 1 million people have been turned down since it began. If true, why?

One thing that comes to mind is that it must be racially correct. Look at the couples white and white, black and black, asian and asian; no where do they depict a mixed couple or even a gay couple. Apparently if you fill out the questionaire and prefer someone other than your race or someone of the same gender, you are no accepted.

It is pretty silly. People will be people, but this group wants to keep the races pure.

Anal-Ocity

I have another nomminee for the Anal-ocity award. You know the dumbest, most anal and the big piece of crap that any can utter.

A Bridge Too Far---Part 3

In Minnesota, the media is calling the bridge collapse catastrophic...(thinking...)...people, people--it was a bridge, at worst 13 people may have died and a few cars were f*cked up--where is the catastrophy? Did thousands of homes get destroyed? Did hundreds of people die? The only thing that will be catastrophic will be the traffic jams on the remaining bridges. Please stop it!

OK, I let us look at the proposed gas hike to fund the program of bridge and road repair. Since the '60's the american people have been paying local, state and fed taxes on gas and now you will be asked to pay more. What did they spend the funds on that they already have collected over the years? Oh sorry, war comes to mind! States have also collected their share of road taxes and yet it was seldom spent on roads or bridges or the infrastructure at all. So I would say that it is the state's responsibility to find the funds that they crapped away on pet projects.

Where I live a prisoner died while in custody of the local sheriff and the trial found the group guilty of murder and violation of civil rights. Now the politicians have said they will raise the property taxes to pay for the lawsuit of some $115 million. So you see politicians want the people to pay the price for their screw ups. Is this wrong? You bet your ass it is!

The American people need to stand up and demand that their tax dollars go for what it was collected for and not pet projects like stadiums built for billionaires. Demand justice and accountability.

The bridge is nothing but a bridge and your politicians have ignored and now you pay the price. If you allow it, you deserve it!

Pakistan: What More Can I Say?

To Stablize Pakistan

Pakistan is in the news almost daily. Either from would-be presidents and their mindless meandering, to the news from Waziristan, to the whole nuke thing, to a mosque shooting, to a deposed judge. In other words if you can think it, it can be found in Pakistan. The country is about as unstable as any in the region. Musharraf is trying to make everyone happy and calm at the same time, The US, Iran, the people, Afghanistan and the song goes on. So how does one stabilize such a headache?

An excellent question and one that cannot be accurately answered by anyone but the Pakistanis. The US seems to think that throwing money at the country and then brow beating the leader is the way to go. I disagree. Political Pakistan could explode any day. Musharraf comes to power through a coup, he is a general and the army play the decisive roll in the coup. Go figure! He is the president of the country and remains the top general of the army also; not a good mix. He has opposition from many many sides and I think that he retains power because he controls the army. Most of the opposition realize that if they get too close to a power move the army will be used to squash them and their movement.

OK, now what about Benazir Bhutto? This woman was the PM of Pakistan until a coup removed her from power. I do not recall much about her and her government because Pakistan was not in the news as then as it is now. About all that was reported was the clash between India and Pakistan over the Kashmir region. I recently listened to an interview that CNN had with her and she struck me as a very intelligent and convicted person, who is trying to help solve Pakistan's political problems. Therer are reports that she and Musharraf's people are meeting trying to strike a deal that would be a power sharing deal between the two. One of her conditions is that Musharraf resign from the military. This is a point of contention since he derives his hold on power from the military. This will be the biggest stumbling block to the deal, IMO.

Just my play on this, say Musharraff did resign from the military and the power sharing deal is signed and Bhutto returns to Pakistan. She is an ambitious politician and I would look for her to cultivate a relationship with the military so that she can move to become the only leader of the country. I realize that a lot of people are saying that her return and a power sharing deal may be the only hope there is for Pakistan and its war with Islamic terrorists. I just think there is more of an agenda here than the defeat of Islamists.

Just some thoughts.

Afghanistan And The War

This is an article I found while researching the BBC site. I thought I would put it here and see if there are any comments.

Can the war in Afghanistan be won?
The BBC begins a week of in-depth coverage of Afghanistan by asking its World Affairs editor, John Simpson, to consider if the Afghan government and the West can win the war against the Taleban.

The Taleban have new confidence and new tactics, and their campaign against the government and its Nato backers has been increasingly successful since the beginning of this year.

In the east of the country, around Jalalabad, suicide bombings have become such frequent occurrences that the road from there to Kabul is now known as "the Baghdad road".

I have been coming to Jalalabad since 1989, but for the first time in my experience we needed a police escort to drive around there. In the countryside near the town, they urged us not to get out of our vehicle when we stopped, despite the intense heat.

"There are spies everywhere," the police explained.

The police themselves are a major target for the Taleban and al-Qaeda guerrillas who operate here now.

Outside the main police headquarters in the town, a senior policeman ran out and ordered us to stop filming in case our presence attracted the attentions of a suicide bomber.

There have been several attacks there, and an unexploded rocket is still lodged in a tree in front of the building.

Terror tactics

Until the end of last year, Jalalabad was relatively quiet. Now it is becoming a battleground.

Along part of the length of the so-called "Baghdad Road", local people point out the places where American soldiers fired at passers-by a few weeks ago, after an attempted suicide bombing.

The soldiers claimed they had come under small-arms fire from the side of the road.

The local authorities later apologised and paid compensation for the deaths.

So far neither Nato nor the government of President Karzai seems to know how to counter the resurgent Taleban

As a result of this and other incidents in this part of the country, Nato and US troops are often regarded with dislike and distrust.

The Taleban's tactics are designed to make people feel there is no safety anywhere.

Last week, just north of Kabul in an area which has always been a stronghold of support for the government and for the Northern Alliance which swept the Taleban from power in November 2001, the Taleban staged a fierce and concerted attack on a pro-government village.

HAVE YOUR SAY
The open-ended presence of foreign troops is turning this war into a war of liberation against foreign occupation
Mike Lee, Malaysia

Just south of Kabul, in Logar province, two schools have been attacked in the past few days, and schoolgirls murdered or injured. The Taleban are particularly opposed to the education of women.

At the hospital where one of the schoolteachers and her pupils were being treated, they begged us not to film them for fear of the consequences.

And the capital itself experienced on Sunday its worst bombing since the fall of the Taleban in 2005, when more than 30 people were killed in an attack on a police bus.

Uncertain future

For several years after the Taleban were chased out of power, they seemed to be finished. Girls went back to the schools which the Taleban had closed down, women's groups started up and women appeared on television as newsreaders.

Now a new campaign of murder against prominent women has begun.

With Nato troops mostly tied up in the southern part of the country, the Afghan police and army are finding it harder to operate elsewhere. New recruits, new weapons and new tactics are coming in to help the Taleban from outside.

Especially from Iraq. Al-Qaeda, the Taleban's close ally, is redirecting some of its forces here.

The new al-Qaeda commander in Afghanistan, Mustafa bin Yazid, has himself had combat experience in Iraq, and is thought to be behind the new tactic of suicide-bombing; something that was relatively rare in Afghanistan until recently.

But the Taleban are not winning all the battles. I spoke to a senior Taleban figure who has just defected to the government in Kabul after falling out with the overall Taleban leader, Mullah Omar.

He maintained that many Taleban leaders like himself are hostile to al-Qaeda, and are looking for some third way between the government with its Nato allies and the foreign extremists led by bin Yazid.

But he agreed the Taleban were proving increasingly successful against the government, and confirmed that their strategy was to surround Kabul and eventually capture it.

While Nato forces are in the country, that will not happen. But so far neither Nato nor the government of President Karzai seems to know how to counter the resurgent Taleban.

Democratic Dream Ticket

I have been hearing this rumbling for a month or more--Some are predicting a democratic ticket in 08 of Clinton/Obama. My thoughts are why? but since I carry no weight, that does not need to be answered. I see this as a good possibility, they both will draw a large amount of voters and a huge amount of financial support. IMO. it could be an unbeatable duo.

A Clinton/Obama ticket would click with foreign policy, they both have similar views of Iraq and with the exception of some minor differences; they would make a nice couple.

Could this be the future? It would help Obama with his next run for president, I do not think it will be Clinton's choice but the party machine may win out. Dems want the White house and this would almost assure them the win.

Personally, I worry about the next administration. There are problems that need to be addressed and I am not sure they will be. No matter who wins in Nov. '08; all I can say is God help us!

Another Democratic Moment

This one was billed as a forum and not a debate--semantics! I was a replay of all the previous meetings of these candidates. The only difference is these guys were trying to impress labor, so every other word out of the lying mouths was labor related. Again I will give my impression, take it or leave or just flush it when you are finished; really does not matter to me.

Clinton--as typical well rehearshed.

Obama--general chest thumping and more rhetoric.

Edwards--Good points--too long winded was trying to hard

Richradson--had little chance to make his points

Biden--solid response to the questions, always with clarification.

Kucinich--He was cooking and responded forcibly and with passion

Dodd--too damn stoic

Gravel--was he there? Is so I missed him on all occassions!

Ok Professor, pick a winner! Kucinich would be the winner, IMO, if I had to vote today for Pres it would be him. Biden was second, but lack something, not quite sure what. He answered the question with conviction, but soime thing was not there. Third would be Edwards, I will not vote for him but at least he tried to inject some passion into his responses. The rest were just f*cking boring.

That is the word and the truth and the truth will set you free.

Obama/Clinton And Iraq

Just some of my thyoughts on their policy concering the troops in Iraq.

Obama/Clinton Iraq Troop Withdrawal

I have spent a bunch of time in the Ink Well(a name given to my cubby hole where I write by my daughter) checking all statements by candidates on various policies that they would impliment if elected president. Most of my thinking is about foreign policy and what implications their choices may have.

You have probably hear all about Obama's goof with the Pakistan statement and the ensuing replies from Clinton, from Pakistan and from Joe the flippin' butcher from the corner market. But I want to talk about one of their other foreign policy proposals.

Senators Obama and Clinton have a similar proposals for the war in Iraq. They would draw down the troops and send them to Afghanistan to assist in the hunt for Osama and the fight against the Taleban. This is a logical direction to take, since Afghanistan is the only war that could be justified. But I question the logic of such a move; while it would bolster the forces in the country and would add to the numbers searching out Islamic terrorist, I still do not think it would be an adviseable move. Why, you may ask?

IMO, if the troops were removed from Iraq and sent to Afghanistan a new problem would emerge. I believe that both of them are saying to take 20,000 of the Iraq troops and send them to Afghanistan along the border area with Pakistan. This area is where the Talebam are most active and everytime, at present, when there is an attack, NATO sends in more troops to help and the locals take it in the butt. When that happens support for the Taleban grows and strenghtens, so to say the 20,000 new troops in the area would be a good thing is ignoring past circumstances. I think that their plan is ill-conceived from ignorance of the situation or just politics on the road to the election. Either case it is not a good idea. The best tactic, IMO, would be to use air support and covert ops to fight the Taleban and let the Afghan army do what it is doing. Yes, it will take a long time to achieve the objective, but Afghans would have done it, with limited interference from NATO and the US.

Obama: The Not Ready For Prime time Player

To begin with I wish the title was original, but I heard somewhere, but cannot remember where.

Obama is trying to pull away from the crowd in the democratic field, but IMO, he is going about wrong. He is playing to his opponents accussations that he is inexperienced. Instead going on the attack he is now in the position where he has to define and explain everything he is saying; in other words he is on the defensive and that will hurt him.

For instance, making a blanket statement lkike he would meet with all the "bad" leasders is first year inoffice, was ill advised. Why? He should have spent some time setting the stage for the comment, now he has to spend all his time explaining what he meant by it. A rookie mistake.

Now he says he would go into, invade Pakistan if the info was there to get the bad guys. Not a smart move, Obama; especially when yoiu were against a war from the beginning and would have never voted to go in the first place. But yet he would invade another country. he and his entourage are sending all their time explaining and defending his statement. Another rookie mistake.

Then there was some statement that he would authorize the use of nukes. Not sure about this story, just something I over heard on the telly. But a sweeping statement like this, if true, is another rookie mistake.

Thinki Obama would make a pretty good president, but if he keeps making mistakes like these; it will be this election that he gets the chance.

A Bridge Too Far-----Page Two

Have you heard that a bridge in Minnesota collapsed? All day the same story over and over and over........

Congress has authorized $250 million for recovery....Recovery? What recovery? clean-up maybe, but recovery?

Was it the only bridge across the Mississippi? Was there a wide path of destruction? Were homes and businesses destroyed? What f*cking recovery? The people will be inconvienced by having to drive around the site. What they gonna get paid for the drive? What recovery?

CNN's morning show has a new slogan, " more news stories per hour than any place else!!!!"

Guess what? They peed all over that promise the first day, by reporting the same story over and over and over.........All the news I can use. BULLSH*T!

Now back to the bridge----Some are blaming Bush--maybe, but not really, as much as I would like to, I cannot. However the State can be blamed, for they were told about the condition of the bridge 2 yrs ago. It was not really that important. But in the meantime they did find the money to finance a new stadium for the Twins, who, BTW, are owned by a billionaire. I guess the priorities are different when you are dealing with a billionaire, huh?

I would imagine there will be a plethora of lawsuitsa once everyone settles down and the lawyers come out with cards in hand.

A Bridge Too Far

I am assuming tha most everyone knows that a bridge across the Mississippi in Minnesota has collapsed and people have died. Does any of this ring a bell? Well, if not just turn on your TV and you willo be caught up to date in about the first 15 minutes.

The Media is talking to absolutely anyone that has an opinion on the collapse of the bridge and I DO mean absolutely every-f*cking-one. It seems that a couple of years ago a Fed report gave the bridge a pretty bad overall review, to the point of to consider replacing it. Good God! But allo things considered, the inconvience to the commuters, the disruption of commerce, etc etc, it was not done. However a state inspection gave the bridge a good review. I guess someone will have to explain this to the families of the dead. All the excuses that were given why not to shut the bridge down are pretty much what happens when it collapses. The only difference is that a voluntary shut down does not kill anyone.

Now this is a huge disaster! But the media is loving it! Why? They have to do very little work, it is a built in story. It was national news when it happened, but now it is regional news and I would say let the local affliates handle it from now on and let them give the new updates as they come in.

I am sure that there is news and stuff happening around the world right now and that could be reported on. This is another V. Tech story, it will go on for weeks and weeks; the only thing we will not learn is the shoe size of the first person killed.

Move on the world is turning and shit is happening!

Romney Speaks Up

You got to love the audacity of this guy; he knows how to play the media.

Mitt Romney cited Hezbollah's social network as a model for U.S. diplomacy.

The former Massachusetts governor, a front-runner in the race for the Republican presidential candidacy, was asked during a campaign stop in Iowa over the weekend whether he would renew President Bush's $50 million campaign to combat AIDS in Africa.

Romney said he would, and would use American know-how to advance U.S. interests.

"Did you notice in Lebanon what Hezbollah did?" he said in remarks broadcast on C-Span and captured by Crooks and Liars, a liberal Web site. "Lebanon became a democracy some time ago and while their government was getting under way, Hezbollah went into southern Lebanon and provided health clinics to some of the people there, and schools. And they built their support there by having done so. That kind of diplomacy is something that would help America become stronger around the world and help people understand that our interest is an interest towards modernity and goodness and freedom for all people in the world. And so, I want to see America carry out that kind of health diplomacy."

Israel says Hezbollah used its social activism as a cover to blanket south Lebanon with arms, helping to precipitate last summer's war.

While I will agree a bit with Romney, I do not think he is serious in this statement.

*********SEX! ChuqSpeak*****************

Romney said he would, and would use American know-how to advance U.S. interests.

This statement is confusing. What know-how? Start a war to make the point? Mitt, Mitt, Mitt--you might want to re-think your statement. The US has f*cked up everything it has touched diplomatically--is that the know-how you want to use? If so, may I say to the Voters--Beware!

Mitt, Mitt, Mitt--this statement needs to be corrected also.

Lebanon became a democracy some time ago and while their government was getting under way, Hezbollah went into southern Lebanon and provided health clinics to some of the people there, and schools.

Lebanon became a deomcracy back in the 50's or 60's--Hezbollah came into being during the lebanese Civil War during the 80's. And it went to S. Lebanon because the central government was ignoring them and Israel was occupying them. It went as a revolutiuonary force to fight. Yes it did help the people, but that was part of the plan, win hearts and minds, and it did. It's goal was to fight Israel not to instill democracy. Rethink, my ,man, re-think!

Just a thought!

A New Debt Ceiling?

More bad news--- U.S. Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson said on Monday the government will hit an $8.965-trillion ceiling on its ability to borrow in early October and asked Congress to raise it. "The actions that are available to the Treasury department to take in order to avoid breaching the statutory debt limit would create unnecessary uncertainty for the financial markets and result in costs to the government," Paulson said in a letter sent to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and made public by the Treasury.

Gee that is just ducky! Since I am not an economic expert I will see if I have this about right. The way to offset a budget deficit is two prong. The deficit occurs because the revenue is small than the expenditures. To cover this deficit the government can do one of two things--one-it can issue debt like T bonds or it can just print more money.

God forbid that they accutally cut down on spending to bring the deficit down. Right now, thanks to a two front war, the deficit is out of control. But will the next election help bring the deficit into line? Or will it just keep going and the ceiling keeps rising? Better yet, do you really care?

Democrats And Domestics

After a spring and early summer dominated by the Iraq war, congressional Democrats are at last pounding out accomplishments on the domestic front, hoping to boost dismal approval ratings for Congress and avoid a “do-nothing” label as they head into the August recess.

Last week’s achievements in agriculture, lobbying reform and homeland security will give Democrats something positive to bring up with voters during the month-long break. The $286 billion farm bill passed Friday by the House continues popular crop subsidies and provides new funds for nutrition programs.

Somewhere I suggested this about a month ago. They just kept try to play the Iraq card and it failed and failed and failed and failed again. Now that they must go back home and face voters the dems jump on the Domestic program bandwagon. They have got to have something positive or they will shoot themselves in the foot. OK, the ethics bill will probably get watered down just so it will pass. In other words, not a damn thing positive in reality, only in politics is it a positive thing.

In closing, the congress will go into the August recess with very little accomplished and what is accomplished is only a shell of a good bill. BTW, I believe that Iraq's parliment is going into recess until about Labor Day. Please, remind me why this is a bad thing? Oh yeah, our troops do not get a recess. Then if it is all that important, why does not the US Congress stay in session? Oh yeah, sorry, my bad--there is an election coming and that is more important than the lives of our troops.

Is Iraq Really Getting Safer?

In the last week or so I have heard three different people say that they have been in Iraq's al Anbar province and it was so safe that they walked around Ramadi without body armor. The last one was Pollock from the Brookings Institute. Is this true? I have seen no evidence of it being that safe. There are no photos of these guys walking around town without body armor. You would think that these people would bring back photos or footage to help illustrate the point. I have seen nothing!

I think it is more that the Bush admin are using these people to bolster their positionb when the ambassador and the general come to town for their report. This appears to be setting the stage for that report, IMO. They want to keep US troops in country for awhile longer and they are pumping up the only good news they have. That being the sunnis are doing a good job of whacking AQ's pee-pee.

So I say this is not really good news. It is manufactered news only to help Bush and his gang get what they want in September.

Transnational Revolutions

I spotted this in the archives of the UPI and thought I would post it for others to read.

Policy Watch: Transnational revolution

WASHINGTON, April 6 (UPI) -- Transnational revolutionary movements seek to promote their brand of revolution not just in one country, but in a group of countries or even the entire world. Nationalist revolutionaries, by contrast, seek to promote revolution just in one country.

Marxist-Leninist, Arab nationalist and Islamic fundamentalist are three transnational movements that have been particularly active in recent decades.

Transnational and national revolutionary movements may be motivated by similar concerns: the desire to rid their country of authoritarian rule and/or foreign domination; and the desire to change existing patterns of income distribution.

The attraction of transnational revolutionary movements for many is that they link these concerns that exist in many different countries into an overarching narrative, pointing to a common cause for their grievances, a common solution to them, and a common set of allies to help them bring about this solution.

The transnational narratives of Marxist-Leninists, Arab nationalists and Islamic fundamentalists either had or have a strong appeal for many people in many countries. However, the existence of these narratives, or revolutionary ideologies, alone will not guarantee the success of transnational revolutionary movements. The ideologies of Marxism-Leninism, Arab nationalism and Islamic fundamentalism developed long before any of these movements were able to seize power anywhere.

One ingredient that appears necessary to make them politically powerful is a charismatic transnational revolutionary leader who not only achieves some extraordinary success (whether actual or illusory), but who is able to project a sense of more success to come. For the Marxist-Leninists, such leaders have included Vladimir Lenin, Mao Tse-tung, Ho Chi Minh, Fidel Castro, Che Guevara and perhaps even Hugo Chavez.

Gamal Abdul Nasser was the principal charismatic transnational revolutionary leader for the Arab nationalists. Both Moammar Gadhafi and Saddam Hussein also tried to take on this role. For Shiite Islamic fundamentalists, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini was such a leader. For the Sunni, Osama bin Laden is one now.

Transnational revolutionary movements offer certain advantages over nationalist ones. First, they can appeal across national lines to larger identities -- class, pan-nationalism, religion. This is especially important when there are ethnic or other rivalries inside a country's artificially drawn borders resulting in no strong unifying sense of nationalism that can be appealed to. Second, belonging to a transnational revolutionary movement offers the prospect of receiving support from fellow revolutionaries in other countries. Third, belonging to a transnational revolutionary movement also offers the prospect not just of transforming a nation internally, but of increasing its importance on the world stage through making it part of a large, powerful bloc.

On the other hand, the obstacles faced by transnational revolutionary movements are often greater than those faced by nationalist ones. For nationalist revolutionaries, their mission is usually accomplished once they have come to power. Provided they do not try to export revolution, they can then easily fit into the existing pattern of international relations.

Transnational revolutionary movements, by contrast, seek to export their revolution to other countries and thereby transform the existing system of international relations in much of the world, or even all of it. Thus, after their initial success in coming to power in one country, their efforts to spread revolution elsewhere quickly results in a concerted attempt by the status quo powers either to roll back their revolution, or to contain it.

Another problem faced by transnational revolutionary movements is that their victory in one country may limit their appeal in neighboring ones that are its traditional rivals.

A third problem is that schisms often arise inside transnational revolutionary movements that result in conflict within them. The Sino-Soviet split plagued the Marxist-Leninist revolutionary movement from the late 1950s until the collapse of communism in Eastern Europe in 1989. The heyday of Arab nationalism (from the mid-1950s to the mid-1960s) was marked by feuding amongst Egypt, Syria and Iraq. Sunni and Shiite Islamic fundamentalists in Iraq seem to be spending as much or more time fighting each other than fighting the U.S.-led coalition forces.

A fourth problem is that while transnational revolutionary movements promise great things before coming to power, the regimes they create afterward usually cannot keep them. Sooner or later, they become discredited both because they are authoritarian and because they do not deliver prosperity -- even though their country may possess oil or other wealth.

As both the Marxist-Leninist and the Arab nationalist experiences have shown, transnational revolutionary movements can eventually evolve into regimes paying lip service to revolutionary ideology but actually becoming nationalist and status quo oriented. Or they can simply collapse.

Can or will this happen to the Islamic fundamentalist movement? The discrediting process cannot really get started in any particular country, of course, unless and until an Islamic fundamentalist regime comes to power that does not deliver on the promises it makes. There are important signs that this process has reached an advanced stage in Iran. But this is a time-consuming process that is highly costly in terms of human lives.

Am I recommending that the United States allow Islamic fundamentalist revolutionaries to come to power in order that they might eventually become discredited? No. On the other hand, I believe that America's inability to foster democracy either in Iraq or elsewhere in the Muslim world will sooner or later result in additional Islamic fundamentalist regimes coming to power. Once they do, the disputes among them that are likely to consume the Islamic fundamentalists will eventually result in some of them seeing America as less of a threat than their fellow revolutionaries in other countries.

The bad news is that this could take a long time. The good news, though, is that no matter how badly Washington messes up in Iraq and elsewhere in the Muslim world, America will have a second chance to contain Islamic fundamentalists if and when they turn against each other like the Marxist-Leninists and the Arab nationalists did before them.

This is my first post in this new feature. It will show up just about anywhere. So beware.

The general that did not do the right thing about Pat Tillman; he may lose a star and some money. Why? Because he gave "misleading information". (thinking....thinking....)

The "elites" give misleading information; the average person lies.

But wait there is more!

Ditech has this mortgage ad on TV where they push that it is a 6.125% loan but yet it is a 6.403% APR. Now which is it?

Guess what? Do you recall the "abstinance" pledge that they pushed into the schools? You recall the sex ed of the Bush Admin, right? It worked so well that the incidents of oral sex rose by 60% and there was a 40% rise in anal sex. Good job guys!

The Death Of Pat Tillman

I think most everybody is aware of the circumstances around the death of Ranger Pat Tillman. There are 7 officers and such that will be dealt with, a 3 star general will be consured and will most likely lose a star and some money. After reading the below stuff--I say it is not enough.

Army medical examiners were suspicious about the close proximity of the three bullet holes in Pat Tillman's forehead and tried without success to get authorities to investigate whether the former NFL player's death amounted to a crime, according to documents obtained by The Associated Press.

"The medical evidence did not match up with the, with the scenario as described," a doctor who examined Tillman's body after he was killed on the battlefield in Afghanistan in 2004 told investigators.

The doctors - whose names were blacked out - said that the bullet holes were so close together that it appeared the Army Ranger was cut down by an M-16 fired from a mere 10 yards or so away.

If all this is true, There had better be some criminal charges filed.

New Terror Reports

The Bush admin just keeps throwing this sh*t out there and the American people, go into the ever popular fear mode.

One of the more memorable and revealing statements explaining the nature of the Bush administration buildup to the invasion of Iraq was offered in September 2002 by then White House chief of staff Andrew Card. "From a marketing point of view," he said, "you don't introduce new products in August." Five years later, a period longer than the Civil War and World War II, the administration is preparing to present its case for continuing the surge in Iraq. But rather than waiting for September, when Gen. David Petraeus is scheduled to deliver his report, the administration has moved up the marketing to July.

The familiar props are rolled out, like the well-worn and peeling painted backdrop for a production of a traveling Victorian theatrical troupe, and members of the audience are expected to watch with rapt fascination, as though they had never seen this show before. The negative response to the preview does not alter the same old script.

Mr. President--please---STOP IT!

Let The Rape Begin!

Recently the Iraqi parlement passed a bill that would be sure that the oil refinery industry was privatized.

The law, approved Tuesday, is a step toward relinquishing government involvement in the refining sector and, when poverty is alleviated, moving Iraqi consumers from state-subsidized to market prices for fuel.

Oil Minister Hussain al-Shahristani told United Press International Wednesday from his mobile phone in Baghdad that the government will provide incentives to both domestic and foreign private oil companies whose refinery plans the ministry approves.

"This is a law that will privatize the refining sector in Iraq and allow the private sector, whether it's local or international investments, to be able to invest in refining activities in Iraq, including building refineries," Shahristani said.

It is just the beginning of the rape of Iraq's natural resource. If and when the oil law is passed and is passed as is, corporations will have cut out the middle man, and let the profits roll.

President George W. Bush argued forcefully today that an Al Qaeda-affiliated group in Iraq is linked tightly to the central Al Qaeda leadership, and that for American forces to leave Iraq without defeating the terror group would be “dangerous for the world and disastrous for America.”

A new report says:

Despite its lead role in protecting the nation's critical assets, the Department of Homeland Security is three years late in developing a plan to protect its own facilities from terrorist attacks, according to a new report.

Instead, the department has relied on a patchwork of efforts by its many components, leading to uneven results, the congressional watchdog office finds.

And Yet Another Democratic Debate

Last night the Demo candidtaes met in South Carolina for the newest debate. A CNN-YouTube Debate. The people got to ask the questions for the candidtaes to answer--Anderson Cooper was the mod for the evening.

The format was unusual and interesting--the askers were more concerned about domestic issues than the war, which was different from other debates where professioanl reporters and such asked the questions. All in all good questions, not the same can be said for answers.

My analysis will not be the same as most for I am grading them on the answers and their positions.

Clinton, Obama and Edwards were the front runners and will remain so in the news. They answered questions without answering questions, which makes them the perfect politicians. They told the people what they thought they wanted to hear, did not give answers that were substantive.

Dodd--what can I say, he is ify at best and a politician, but a few of his answers were good, most were political not truthful.

Biden and Kucinich once again gave answers that were full of conviction and passion, they were not canned answers at all.

Gravel--Good answers but will be seen as a tired old Demo that needs a break.

Richardson--an outsider with several good answers toi questions like education and etc. but unfortunately he was not outstanding and will remain an also ran. Thge one bright spot for me was when a person asked if troops were dying in vain as they did in Viietnam. The only two that gave a definite yes were Gravel and Kucinich; the rest tapped danced and gave no good answer.

All in all--it was what I had anticipated, the top thyree gave standard answers that were not answers just quotes from sources. To the media, not much will change--top three will remain the top three and the others will continue to fight to be heard.

My scorecard:

Kucinich wins; Biden second; Edwards third and rest are just politicians.

Out Of Ammo?

This story is just great!

US forces have fired so many bullets in Iraq and Afghanistan - an estimated 250,000 for every insurgent killed - that American ammunition-makers cannot keep up with demand. As a result the US is having to import supplies from Israel.

A government report says that US forces are now using 1.8 billion rounds of small-arms ammunition a year. The total has more than doubled in five years, largely as a result of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, as well as changes in military doctrine.

Sounds like we need to work on marksmanship. Buying from Israel? Why not, they have more US weapons than the US. A while back I had a post about the military training of the troops and how it did not appear to me that it was as good as everyone wants us to believe.

Terroists Attack In '09?

Some are saying that the best time for a new attack on the US will be shortly after the new admin takes office. They will not firmly be comfortable with their new tasks and would possibly make a new attack much easier.

With the nation's intelligence analysts warning that a resurgent Al Qaeda could attempt another strike in the United States, homeland-security officials are refocusing on some of the nation's most apparent vulnerabilities.

At the top of the list is the January 2009 transition to a new administration – when a changing of the guard may leave the country less able to respond quickly and decisively to an attack.

The issue has gained urgency with last month's attempted car bombings in London and Glasgow, which occurred just days after British Prime Minister Gordon Brown assumed power.

Homeland-security and intelligence analysts in the US are analyzing the factors that have allowed Al Qaeda, characterized as "on the run" by President Bush last year, to recover enough to allow it to continue to be a serious threat to the next administration.

"Our preoccupation with Iraq provided Al Qaeda with breathing space at probably what was the most critical time for them to enable them to reconstitute themselves," says Bruce Hoffman, a terrorism expert at the Brookings Institution, a research and policy group in Washington. "The other question boils down to our relationship with Pakistan: Al Qaeda would not have been able to revive had they not had the safe haven that they seem to enjoy in these tribal areas of Pakistan."

Senate's All Night Session

I was in the the middle of another sleepless night and decided to watch the all night special on CSPAN. What can I say? How do you explain the show?

Assclowns! Pathetic! WTF?

This dog and pony show was a waste of time and taxpayers money.

Every Senator that got up to speak, echoed party line. McCain was a bit animated, maybe he should try that on the campaign trail and he would not be scratching his ass wondering what has happened. Both parties when speaking would say that all the soldiers they had talked with were saying, one thing or another, whichever line they taking. So I guess that soldier speaks for all in Iraq? Stupid tactic!

Then the Repubs that spoke, quoted the Iraq Study Group report, but yet 8 months ago it was dismissed and the quotes were taken out of context, for the most part. And there was the inevitable, "the soldiers I spoke with asked, why do they only show the bad, never the good that is in Iraq". And then NO ONE offers up anything that is good. That alone should tell you things are not GOOD!

Recently, a lot was made of the Repub defections, right? That they want a new tact in Iraq. A new plan, if you will. But the Repubs have said that a simple majority (51) is not good enough it should be 60 votes for the bill. Does not sound like they are too damn serious about a new tact, IMO.

The only Senator I was impressed with was Senator Maria Cantwell (D-Wash) is brought up the oil law that is in deep contention. She also pointed out for the record that the law as is would give Iraq control of 17 or the 80 oil fields, the rest would be controlled by corporations. She and Biden are offering up a bill that would eliminate any permanent bases in Iraq and give Iraq complete control over their oil.

All in all, being an insomniac sucks, but it gave me the chance to watch the ASSCLOWNS in action. BTW, the government is DYSFUNCTIONAL and anybody that pays attention would have the same conclusion. Time for a COMPLETE change, not just some dipstick pres, but all the so-called representatives; they are worthless and paid way too much for their participation in the government.

In conclusion let me sum up the night of the long session. Dysfunctional! Delusional! Pathetic! Assclowns! I guess I should say something positive. (thinking.....thinking....) I'm going to bed.

Could This Be The Answer To Iraq?

I have no problem with this if his plan is workable then why not go for it?

A Solution to the War in Iraq, is being offered by a US Army intelligence officer fed up with the conflict and anxious to attract some attention to what he says is a viable and face-saving solution to the four-year-old conflict.

"I am offering the winning bidder the solution to the war in Iraq," the seller, identified as "cptnabil", said in the bid.

"This is not a flippant or facetious offer ... if you are the high bidder, I will send you a viable solution to the conflict in which we are currently engaged," the seller wrote.

The New York Post on today identified the seller as Army Captain Thad Krasnesky, who describes himself on eBay as a US Army military intelligence officer with an extensive background in the Middle East.

"I speak the language and understand the culture, history, and religion, well enough to construct a fair, honourable, and successful plan."

West Bank First Strategy

It seems that the Us and Israel are now chumming up to Fatah. Why? There position has not changed for decades, but now they someho9w represent the Palestinian people? Why?

This is the plan that Bush and Olmert seem to be embracing.

Most analysts said Bush's speech – including his pledge to provide some $190 million to support Palestine Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas and convene a regional conference to support renewed Israeli-Palestinian peace talks – was too little, too late and included too many conditions to rally strong Palestinian or Arab support.

The speech, which came on the eve of a new trip to the region by Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, marked Bush's full embrace of what has been called the "West Bank First" strategy.

It calls for providing full support to Abbas on the occupied West Bank while isolating his main rivals, former Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh and his Hamas party, which took over the Gaza Strip last month after a series of gun battles with security forces loyal to Abbas' Fatah.

Personally, I think they are more afraid of Hamas than Fatah. And also Abbas is wearing knee pads to keep his position and a cash flow. Ask yourself, what is Abbas promising to get this long overdue support? Is his motives for the people or his position? The Palestinian people have suffered long enough and it is time for petty political bullshit to be laid aside and the future of the people to be the paramount concern.

Mass Killings In Iraq

In his news conference, Pres Bush said that if the US were to pull out of Iraq, there would be massive amounts of violence.

With his policy in disarray, Mr Bush now describes the war in Iraq as a full-scale conflict with al-Qa'ida. In talking up al-Qa'ida's role in Iraq Mr Bush is attempting to tap into deep-seated American fears of terrorism. The oft-repeated mantra of 11 September 2001 provided him with support for the invasion in the first place. Now he is warning that there would be " mass killings on a horrific scale", if the US was forced to withdraw.

Dead Iraqi? So what?

The below article brought back some disturbing memories I have from my days and years in Vietnam.

Through a combination of gung-ho recklessness and criminal behaviour born of panic, a narrative emerges of an army that frequently commits acts of cold-blooded violence. A number of interviewees revealed that the military will attempt to frame innocent bystanders as insurgents, often after panicked American troops have fired into groups of unarmed Iraqis. The veterans said the troops involved would round up any survivors and accuse them of being in the resistance while planting Kalashnikov AK47 rifles beside corpses to make it appear that they had died in combat.

"It would always be an AK because they have so many of these lying around," said Joe Hatcher, 26, a scout with the 4th Calvary Regiment. He revealed the army also planted 9mm handguns and shovels to make it look like the civilians were shot while digging a hole for a roadside bomb.

What Are The Benchmarks For Iraq?

Benchmarks? Benchmarks? The American people have been bombarded with the term Iraqi "benchmarks". But how many know what they are? (Professor looks around the room) Who knows what the benchmarks are? You say they must meet them but if you do not know what they are, how can you say they are met?

A little assistance here are the benchmarks and you make the call.

And here are those benchmarks:

(1) Forming a Constitutional Review Committee and then completing the constitutional review.

(2) Enacting and implementing legislation on de-Baathification.

(3) Enacting and implementing legislation to ensure the equitable distribution of hydrocarbon resources of the people of Iraq without regard to the sect or ethnicity of recipients, and enacting and implementing legislation to ensure that the energy resources of Iraq benefit Sunni Arabs, Shia Arabs, Kurds, and other Iraqi citizens in an equitable manner.

(4) Enacting and implementing legislation on procedures to form semi-autonomous regions.

(5) Enacting and implementing legislation establishing an Independent High Electoral Commission, provincial elections law, provincial council authorities, and a date for provincial elections.

(6) Enacting and implementing legislation addressing amnesty.

(7) Enacting and implementing legislation establishing a strong militia disarmament program to ensure that such security forces are accountable only to the central government and loyal to the Constitution of Iraq.

(8) Establishing supporting political, media, economic, and services committees in support of the Baghdad Security Plan.

(9) Providing three trained and ready Iraqi brigades to support Baghdad operations.

(10) Providing Iraqi commanders with all authorities to execute this plan and to make tactical and operational decisions, in consultation with U.S commanders, without political intervention, to include the authority to pursue all extremists, including Sunni insurgents and Shiite militias.

(11) Ensuring that the Iraqi Security Forces are providing even handed enforcement of the law.

(12) Ensuring that, according to President Bush, Prime Minister Maliki said 'the Baghdad security plan will not provide a safe haven for any outlaws, regardless of sectarian or political affiliation'.

(13) Reducing the level of sectarian violence in Iraq and eliminating militia control of local security.

(14) Establishing all of the planned joint security stations in neighborhoods across Baghdad.

Political Quote Of The Week

It is Saturday, how about a quote to mull over this weekend?

I am free, no matter what rules surround me. If I find them tolerable, I tolerate them; if I find them too obnoxious, I break them. I am free because I know that I alone am morally responsible for everything I do. - Professor Bernardo de la Paz,

I like it, but then I have always been a proponent of civil disobedience.

Same Song--Different Year

This is a piece I wrote to send to Lou Dobbs about a year ago when he became a rabid spokesman for the anti-immigration people. I have also posted it on a few forums.

What Is New With The Immigration Thing?

NOT A G*DD*MN THING! Does that answer the f*cking question? Every agrument that is being made today has been made in the past. Let me say that again, EVERY argument that is being made today has been made in the past. I have tried to be neutral in this, but enough is enough! I am personally, sick of the sanctimonious bullshit!

When exactly was that? I am glas you asked! About 30 years ago we had an influx of immigrants, they were called refugees and not illegals and guess what the same objections were voiced then as now. They will take American jobs. They will be a drain on society. They do not speak english. They are demanding benefits without pay their dues for the priviledge. Yada, f*cking yada.

Who are these people that I am accusing of this? The Vietnamese! Maybe you are too young to recall, but nothing been said is NEW! Back in the day, everybody had an opinion. I guess about the only difference was the wording of the description of the people. They were refugees. Today the people are called illegals. The wording is everything. It is more politically correct to use illegals and it makes for good fodder for the talk shows. Other than that there is NO difference.

How do I know all this? I lived through it! I do not need Google to refresh my memory. As a Vietnam vet I was one of the opponents of the mass influxion of 'refugees'. I saw them recieve all sorts of perks for coming here; perks that as a Viet vet I could not get. As a matter of fact, the Viets were given free shrimp boats and free gas so that they could become useful residents of the Coast. Local shrimpers were pissed, they started saying that they would starve because the government did not care about their plight. Several really ugly confrontations were gonna happen. Does any of this sound familiar? Well, no one starved to death and eventually all learned to play nice with each other. I was vocal and I was dead set against them coming to this country. Even to this day, my town has an on call linguist because not all Vietnamese speak english. Even today, In my town there are bi-lingual signs, etc, does not seem to be a problem, so why is a sign in Spanish a problem. The Viets were not forced to become citizens and some to this day still are not. The younger ones became citizens but not all the parents. Do you people that are yelling the loudest about the drawbacks of all the Mexicans worried about the others? F*ck No! You learned to live with it. Do it again!

As with the Vietnamese, the problem the US is facing now, will be just fine. Last the mexicans are working from day one, most of the time. It was not so with the Vietnamese, but it all worked out in the wash and the Vietnamese became valued members of American society. It will be the same again! This immigration thing is just away to keepd the American people focused on something besides the declining quality of life in this country. It is working and you people are letting it succeed.

The Mexicans like the Viets are hard working people and that should be all that concerns anyone. But NOOOOOOO! You have to turn this into an ugly debate that is not and will not solve the problem.

So yes, I have an opinion and it does and did not matter. Mine like yours does not matter. All I can say is, welcome to the f*cking debate!

The Iraqi Abnormal Government

This is an editorial that was printed in Azzamam, an Iraqi newspaper and I thought it needed to be put out there for Americans to see what the Iraqis think of the Bush experiment in democracy.

Our abnormal government!

By Fatih Abdulsalam

Azzaman, July 3, 2007

The political administration of the country is passing through a stage unseen in the history of any nation. The administration we have is so abnormal to the extent that none of its politicians are worthy to rule. They in fact need someone to rule over them.

Look at our parliament. One bloc suspends its participation. Another block boycotts meetings. Another rejoins the sessions while some legislators are so careless that they do not bother to attend.

The government is in disarray. Some ministers have withdrawn. Others are negotiating the price they will be paid in case they decided to stay. Certain ministers have linked their participation in the government to whether the religious clerics they hold as saints are happy with them or not.

One of the vice-presidents is angry with the government. The other vice-president changes his statements in which he was reported on the record saying that the government was useless.

The president of the republic and the prime minister have yet to comment on the disorder and chaos in their own house. Their job is now confined to policies of appeasement.

A member of parliament accuses one of the ministers of murder. One minister is alleged to be cooperating with ‘terrorists’. Another minister flees to Washington.

The office of the prime minister is busy trying to appease the militia groups which U.S. troops would like to target. The prime minister and his office are keen not to let that happen.

And the country’s pubic integration committee which was to introduce some form of transparency and accountability in the government is all but silent because it can no longer keep track of the scale of corruption as the whole country is being professionally looted.

The committee set to revise the constitution – an important step for reconciliation – is in an embarrassing situation because none of the influential political factions is ready to compromise despite the fact that the country is imploding

Iraqi politicians are revolving in a vicious circle. They are completely out of touch with the reality.

And left to themselves are the powerless and hapless Iraqi people who now live under the constant threat of terror, deceit, evacuation, killing, murder and kidnapping at the hands of terrorist gangs and bloody militias.

A New Threat

Yesterday or so, Goldman Sachs has recieved numerous threatening notes sent to them thru newspapers. These notes read something like , "your days are numbered, you caqnnot be safe we are inside, yada, yada, yada". And the they were signed A.Q. USA. The police and FBI have been informed and security precautions have been put into place.

Now with all that dsaid, when was the last time al-Qaeda sent a note letting everyone know of an impending act of violence? Waiting......Waiting.....did not think so. At best, this is some guy getting a woody by all the jumping thru asses his notes have caused. If it was the infamous group you would know about the act of terrorism when it happened. Calm down! Go shopping or the terrorists will win.

MY Iraq Prediction

Morning and I would like to go out on a limb with a prediction on Iraq. If you watch or read or listen to the news, then you know that all is not going so well in Iraq. But Bush is on this obscene messianic mission in Iraq. Everone is waiting with baited breath for Gen Prataeus and his report due in September. Opponents of the war see it as the final straw and that the war will be winding down afterwards.

I am beginning to think that it will prod Bush into asking and getting several thousnds more troops. It will be the final push, the way forward to victory. He and /or his advisors will see the report as a call for more troops. They will spin it and spin it until some negativities vrought out will be nullified.

IMO, this will be a fight among the repubs and the dems, but since some repubs are defecting the admin will spin it and bring them back into the fold.

I sincerly hope I am mistakened! But as of now, it do not think I will be.

Freed Reporter Thanks Abbas

Did I miss something? I was under the impression that he was held by a Hamas associated group.

BBC correspondent Alan Johnston has met Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to thank him for helping to free him from 114 days in captivity in Gaza.

He met Mr Abbas in the West Bank city of Ramallah, a day after he was freed in a deal between his kidnappers, the Army of Islam, and the Hamas movement.

Appatrently, it is important to make Abbas look good in the media. That is all I got!

A New Plan From Iraq

Since the Sunni are being a major pain in Maliki's ass, he now wants to cut the size of his cabinet. Would anyone like to bet which ministers were on the chopping block?

Maliki has said for months he wanted a reshuffle to cull inefficient ministers and bring in more technocrats. On Tuesday, he acknowledged the government's performance had been poor.

"It has been agreed to have a total Cabinet reshuffle by reducing the number of ministries from 36, to 20 or 22 ministries," Sami al-Askari, a Shiite member of Parliament and senior Maliki adviser, said on state Iraqiyya television.

"The prime minister must have the complete right to select his ministries. At that point, the prime minister can be held accountable for his choices," Maliki said.

Cabinet posts reflect a quota system largely based on seats held in Parliament by the Shiite majority, minority Sunni Arabs and Kurds. This has made many ministers more loyal to their political and sectarian blocs than Maliki.

Maliki is desparate to find a way to make his US handlers happy. This move will be to try and find a way to give the US at least oine of the "benchmarks" that they wat. The passage of the oil law.

The Day After

Well thanx to the world, news media has stories from yesterday on a loop so they can take a nap. I got nothing today, but I did find this story about a Bush speech on the 4th.

"More than two decades [sic] later," the president said, "it is hard to imagine the Revolutionary War coming out any other way. But at the time, America's victory was far from certain. In other words, when we celebrated the first 4th of July celebration, our struggle for independence was far from certain."

The allusion clearly was to the uncertainty that shrouds the war in Iraq. But also to the prospect of eventual victory there, as well. Recently, President Bush had stopped using the words "win" or "victory" when talking about Iraq. But he once again called for triumph in his West Virginia speech.

However difficult the fight is in Iraq, we must win it," Mr. Bush said. "We must succeed for our own sake. For the security of our citizens, we must support our troops, we must support the Iraqi government, and we must defeat al-Qaida in Iraq," the president said to a round of applause.

I love the fact that a draft dodger, legal dodger, went into the National Guard to avoid Vietnam and now he wants to tell me all about what needs to be done in Iraq. Since it is his idea I say let us take up a collection and send him to Iraq and put his wonderful plan into operation.

Iraqi politics

A Comparison: Iraq And The US

I am taking a different tact than most others, there has been a comparison between Iraq and Vietnam, which I pretty much agree with. In Iraq, there has been talk upon talk about the government meeting certain benchmarks, before the US can even consider withdrawing from the country. Such things as a reconciliation government, oil law, control violence, etc. Recently, the Iraq parliment, considered taking two monthys off from their session. Jeez, this started a swirl of BS the the States, everybody from Senators, to journalist to the Pres condemned this possible action.

Let us see, the two months they were considering taking off were the two hottests months in Iraq, for one. And for another, electrical service is hit and miss in Iraq and the building where they meet could have no service making it just about unbearable, at best. What would YOUR Congress do if they were faced with the same situation? Do you think the pamered fat cats would continue to work if they were uncomfortable? Very flippi' doubtful!

The Iraq Parliment has been accused of getting nothing done to help the country. Once again, ask yourself, just what has YOUR Congress done for the country. Better yet what had they accomplished in the last six months? Raise the minimum wage--good they raised so destitute workers can move up to living in poverty. That was an amazing accomplishment on there part.

But wait! They did accomplish something! The House voted themselves a raise to begin in January 2008. Does that tell you why they are in Washington? If you think they are there on your behalf, YOU ARE DELUSIONAL!

I said last December, that these pigs were a do nothing lot and so far they have not proved me wrong. My point is, to condemn the Iraqis for doing nothing is a bit hypocritical, but then again hypocrites make the best politicians.

Scooter Is Da Man!

Please a show of hands--how many thought this was a sure thing? Does anyone really think that this guy was actually do time?

This was a given--Libby was NEVER gonna do time and after the appeal system has run its course he will get the full pardon. Why? Silence comes with a price. I am just thrilled that there is a major news story here. About 60% of the American people knew this was gonna happen and those that did not know were in a coma and believe the statement, your check is in the mail.

I smell a fellowship at the American enterprise institute, that is where all neocon scum bags work after they leave office.

Professor's Classroom

It is Monday and you know what that means? The class is in session. My last lecture was a bomb hopefully this one will be better.

OK, Class

Who is the Egyptian Yasser Abdul-Ra'ouf Qudwa Al-Husseini?

Good luck and good hunting!

England And The Bombs

Has everyone heard about the bomb attacks that occurred in London and Glasgow? If not, then I suggest you return your head to the sand and I will go on.

The news outlets have interviewed just about everyone but a squirrel in the park. we have heard ever angle from ever angle. Was it al-Qaeda in Britain?

Let us look at it! Bomb by club ws detected, bomb in park did not go off, Jeep in Scotland burst into flames but did not explode. Is that about it?

Does any of that sound like an al-Qaeda cell? F*CK NO! It sounds like amatuers trying to be a terrorist. They may think of themselves as al=Qaeda, but please stop calling them that! These are the same, lame bozos that f*cked up the Ft. Dix thing by taking the vid to be put on cd. Does not sound like the actions of dedicated terrorists? NO! It is wannabes, while they are dangerous, they are no al-Qaeda

All this action did was scare the living sh*t out of Brits! Other than that, it was a total waste of time. All these people did was give the War on Terror a shot in the arm and make it appear that the west is actually winning the war. It is good news for politicians, both US and Brit. Will it make the terrorists more cautious? No doubt! Will it help stop any future action. Not a chance!
