Professor's weekly News UpDate

Primaries, elections, negativity, speeches, and lie.....that was the major news of the week...but there were a few worthless POS that did slither their way into the broadcasts.

If it is worthless
And it is news
time for that long overdue snooze.

1--Obama bowls a 37 in Penn.--did not think this would be big news--but i was mistaken.

2--Chinese Olympians use powered deer penis as an enhancer......I cannot make this shit up!

3--3rd graders in GA. plan to kill their teacher for scolding them.....they had a plan and the equipment....and you think this is a healthy society......guess again!

4--More cops being caught being stupid on camera......are they that stupid?

5--More car chases, crashes, more weather, more celebs being morons.....yada, yada

6--An English judge has rules that Princess Di is still DEAD!

Good-bye and good day---may all your children be born naked!

An Economic Election?

In the beginning there was war. Then the war turned to gloom in the economy and now this election season is all about the economy. But why is that?

Gas prices up
Food prices up
Housing down 9%
Consumer confidence down
Wholesale inflation up 1%
Retail sales sluggish at best
Economic growth up a dismal .6%

Then there is oil which is closing above 100 a barrel even as high as $102.59 a barrel
Here is the one to watch---GOLD--it is approaching $1000 an ounce--this is an indicator of inflation approaching.

With all this sh*tty news the "money" shows on the tube tell us that the economy is weak but still dynamic. What the hell does that mean? That means that speculation is good. Millionaires making billions in the speculation markets. But the average Joe is sitting a table going over his bills deciding who will be paid this month and who will just have to wait.

None of that tells me that this a dynamic economy, even though it may be a bit weak for now.

Now people will go and vote first in the primaries and then the general election. I suggest they check out each candidate and see if they truly have a position on the economy that will help the average working family out of the economic mess that this administration has put them in.

If you buy into the snow job that corporate tax cuts will create more jobs, then my friend you are delusional and will most likely make a disastrous choice for president. Just remember when you and your children are eating cat food that your vote was the reason why you are in so deep that there may not be a light waiting at the end of the tunnel.

Peace!

Professor's Random Thoughts

There are times when I see or hear or read something that makes me ask WTF? I thought I would start writing them down for prosperity....tee-hee.

1-- A baptist preacher, a Mormon and a Catholic walking into a primary..........that's all I got, but there has got to be a joke in there somewhere.

2--Who do the candidates point at when they are on stage?

3--I watched an interview on morning Joe with Rudy, and when they were talking about NYC and his mayoral stint he said, "I had many crises, not just 9/11, that I had to deal with...." DAMMIT! Joe Biden was right, when Rudy talks his sentences have three things, a noun, a verb and 9/11.

4--Have you ever read Orwell's 1984? It is when big brother is watching and there are large tv screens everywhere telling you how to live, pass on propaganda, so on...thinking...thinking...you kinda like the large flat screen tv you have in your house? And yes it is telling you all the same stuff they were in 1984. Dumbass!

Is Recession Coming?

According to Goldman/Sachs it is and will last awhile. But this prediction comes from a company that gives a bonus of $68 million to its CEO. Just had to throw that in....for effect. The Fed will most likely cut rates again, maybe by a half a point. That should entice investors to go hog wild on the markets. Since the markets are falling like a skydiver without a chute, something will have to be done to protect the investors.

All this is just ducky, if you are investing heavily in the markets. But what about Joe Sixpack who lives on Wisteria Lane? What is being done to help them face the economic crunch? He/she is facing rising food costs, rising gas prices, jobs loss, a credit crunch, and a housing dilemma; so what is the FED doing to help the real person struggling to provide for their family?

Consumers, average working Joes and Joans, make up 66% of the economy, but yet they are totally ignored until it is advantageous to report on them.

A coming recession? If you are a worker--you are already in a massive, deep recession. Can this be changed? Hell yes, but you will have to vote for change...unfortunately, I see little change coming for the average American, no matter who or which party is elected. Buck up!

Dr. Phil

First I want to say that I am still pissed! Yesterday, an important news day and my cable server went down, no internet, that is the pits! Second, I do not normally do too much posting on societal bullsh*t, but this story has me ranting.

Dr. Phil, you know that bald loud mouth that has a show where he supposedly helps people with their personal and emotional problems? It seems this TOAD in an attempt to boost ratings, circumvented security at the hospital where Britney was being held, to try and coerse the broad to appear on his show.

This makes him a QUACK! His desire for better ratings has shown his true colors. It is about the money not about helping people. If he was a true pro he would not need to sneek into Britney's room and try to talk the train wreck into appearing on his show.

It is about time for intervention in his tactics. He should be censured by the professional association that he is a member of and it shoul.d be a public censure

2008 Anal-ocity

I have found the first anal-ocity of the New Year.

It is something that Jonas Prising, of Manpower Inc said about the dismal economic report just days ago.

"The economy is strong from a historical perspective".

How stupid, we can find a justification for anything in a historic perspective.

Good luck, Jonas, may you become a finalist for the most anal statement of the year and win the coveted "Assie" award.

Political Quote Of The week

During this election cycle there is much said about taxes and tax cuts on both sides of the political island. This quote is very telling, IMO. Taxes can be raised without your knowledge.

Inflation is the one form of taxation that can be imposed without legislation. - Milton Friedman

What About Worker Inflation?

Most reports one see or reads in the media has a better than average outlook for the economy, but those outlooks are geared toward investors, not humans.

Let us look at realities for the average working stiff in the US.

Food costs are up
Gas prices are up
housing is sagging
unemployment is up
retail sales flat
plant closings
jobs lost

These are all things that effect the workers of this country and yet we are told constantly that all is well and the economy is looking good. Who decides that for the average worker? Ask anyone, other than some hot shot investor and you will get the answer that all is not well. And the prospects of improvement are not looking good. The average working family is basically living on credit and eventually that is gonna bite everybody in the butt.

I know reality bites!

Shooters And The Media

How long will the media keep glorifying these goddamn shooters? The American people do not need to know their names or anything about them, other than the fuckers are crazy. These dicks are looking for "fame" and by a string of worthless reports they are receiving just that. STOP IT!

We do not need to know his history, his eating habits or what his folks do for a living. All this bullshit is just embolding others to do the same thing. Maybe that is what the media is looking to do. For these types of stories are easier than actually having to be a journalist.

Are you people happy with the corporate media? It is all about the entertainment quality, not the newsworthiness of a story. It is about ratings and ONLY ratings. This is what you fuckers get for allowing the media to be OWNED by a handful of companies. Are you happy and content? If you are may I suggest that you buy a gun and do the world a favor.

Yes I said --I meant it--so bite my ass!

Professor's Congressional ScoreCard

Well it is time for a short synopsis of the progress of the Congress last month. A full review can be found on the Oracle Of Inkwell, there is a link here if you want to read it.

So far the scorecard is thus:

Aug--1 backwards step

Sept--1 backwards step

Oct--1 backward step

And now for Nov- (drum roll, please) No step--the Congress basically stood still for the month.

Reflections--1968/2007

Since I am an old fart, I have been watching the American society slowly, but slowly destroy itself, politically. Everything started falling apart in 1968, this is when the fringe factions started influencing the DNC. The war was raging, tempers were raging and all was starting to unravel. Look at the things that influenced, many, many deaths in Vietnam, the young did not want to fight and the young wanted a new direction for the country. And then the Dem convention in Chicago, where the lid blew off the pot. (no pun intended).

The anti-war faction and the social liberals started influencing the Party. That is why McGovern became the candidate over Humphrey or Muskie. The violence in the streets were turning voters from the Dems and this lead to the conserv democrat surge in the South. Because of this the repubs gained many new voters and helped give Nixon a win.

Fast forward to 2007. Now take a good look at the repubs, their party is unraveling before their eyes, just as the Dems did in '68. Fringe factors had gain too much influence on the direction of the Party and the bailing began. There are too many factions struggling for control and influence; this will prove fatal to the election for the repubs.

This repub struggle will most likely give the election to the dems. Then the repubs will have to reinvent themselves just as the dems had to in the past.

My only question is, whether any of this will help the common man? It did not when the dems had to reinvent. Only time will tell. The remake will be interesting to watch.

Professor's Poll Watch

And you think that the American people are getting more civilized.

This is from a Zogby Poll taken last week.

11% of Americans say they would approve of implanting a device in their brains so they can access the net.

24% of Americans say the the internet could replace the need for a spouse.

These are probably the ones that will vote. Are you scared now?

Yet Another Gay Scandal

I heard yesterday that a Washington State conserv politician has resigned. Why? It seems his gay lover is trying to blackmail him. Oh yeah his name is Curtis and he is a rabid anti-gay politician. Go figure.

How many is that now? And the GOP is the moral compass of the country? please!

An Indian-American Governor

The state of Louisiana has elected an India-American as governor of the state. First time in US. He will be the youngest governor and he is a Repub. Of course, he would be a Repub, he is wealthy, what else would he be? and he has a plan to clean up the state; not sure what that plan is, he never really said, but he has one nonetheless.

Of course in his victory speech he eludes to the fact that he is the son of immigrants. A humble beginning--BULLSH*T! All these types use that immigrant thing or the "son of a poor sharecropper". People! People! it is all bullsh*t, they are millionaires and have NO idea what it was like to be a sharecropper. WAKE UP! Stop being mental midgets! ALL try to appear to be humble--they are ELITIST! I do not care where they came from or who their grandparents were--they are ELITISTS!

Jindal, new gov of LA, has one thing going for him--he married a Indian woman, so conservs will like him, he did not interracially marry. BTW, he supports the war in Iraq, for whatever reason, no one is sure.

Only time will tell just how good he woill be for Louisiana. I think he has a long hard road.

Tsongas Wins House Seat

Does that name ring a bell? It should she is the widow of Paul Tsongas, democrat presidential hopeful from the 80's. That puts yet another Democrat in the House, it can only help the balance of power in the Congress. Congrats to her!

But I need to ask a few questions. Is it written somewhere that if you were married to a Congressman that you should run for office? She is not alone in her situation. There is a congressperson from Louisiana, and I am sure there are others that I have overlooked. So what makes them attractive to run for office? Name recognition? Something other than that? Just what is it?

Will she be a liberal democrat or a conservative like those lame-os from the South? Since I am not very knowledgeable a bout Northeast politics, I am not sure about her ideology. If there is someone who knows, please enlighten me.

I will reserve my opinion on the new Congresswoman until I see how she handles the issues that come before her.

Food Prices Are Falling

About all that I can say to that is---HUH? Apparently no one who makes such comments ever goes shopping for food.

I recently saw on a news ticker that the prices of food has fallen for the fourth straight month. Thinking....thinking....how does one answer this claim? I found a few stats that should help people understand what a pile of steaming crap that statement is.

In the last month these are the increases on food stuffs that we all buy:

Eggs up 20%
Milk up 13%
Chicken up 10%

I think that the stats were manipulated to make the average working person feel more confident in the economy and their chances of a piece of the "good life". It is a LIE! The economy, for working people, is getting worse and more unequal.

Is there hope for the average American? Yes, but they will not find it in the system as it is now. All they have to look forward to, no matter who wins the election, is more of the same. But as usual the people will buy into the lies and promises of the candidates and when they do not deliver, the people will wait for the next election to try and find someone who will have their best interest at heart. It will, as always, be a futile search.

Einstein once said that insanity was doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result--I agree. The American people prove this theory daily, for they continue to put there trust in a group of people that could care less about them.

All I can say is--STOP waiting for change! YOU CAN bring that change, but you have to get involved. JUST DO IT!

DC Fails To Get Representation

A bill to give the residents of Washington DC their own representative fell short of passing by 3 votes, short of the 60 needed to make it so.

What is the problem, you may ask? Think about it! There is a section of the US that has NO representation in Congress. Are you thinking about that? Again! There is a section of the US that does not have representation in Congress. Have you grasp this yet?

OK let us look at it from another point, there are those that point to the US as a good example of democracy at work, but yet there are those who are denied representation. What part of that sounds democratic to you? Do you see a problem yet? Who speaks for the residents of DC?

I want to see how all these reps voted on this bill. I want to know who were those who voted against Americans having representation in the Congress. May I suggest that they refrain from holding the US up as an example of how a democracy works--for those who live in DC are getting no democratic representation--then that negates the position illusion of democracy that all seem to want to hold up to the world as an example.

How To Avoid A Trainwreck

May I see a show of hands from those that have been watching the trainwrecks known as Paris, Britney and Lohan? Just about every- f*cking- body. COOL!

Now let us talk about Latin singing star Shakira. This young lady, OK I will admit a cutie with a great set of hips, but other than the obvious, she has helped build schools and kids programs in her native Columbia. Now she is enrolled in a Western civilization class at UCLA. Her prof, who did not know who she was until recently, has said that she is a very good student. She has taken other classes as well.

So to those that condemn these entertainers like Britney and Lohan, should see that not all are the fluff whores that the gruesome threesome portray. Maybe these air headed bimbos should take a page from Shakira's book on life. Apparently she is handling it better than anyone of the others.

But the more I think about those 3 going back to school, they would just resort to the time honored practice of f*cking your way to an "A". At least, they would be doing something constructive with their lives, instead of trying to go through it on auto pilot.

My hat is off to Shakira for her handling her life. There needs to be more role models like her. it is just ashame that this type of story gets very little play, instead we had rather hear about the personal trainwrecks of the Fluff Whores! Society is just f*cking sick!

I be done--Peace--Out!

The Sub Prime Crisis

Alrighty then, hopefully you are aware of the crisis in the subprime market. If not, then here ya go! The subprime is when borrowers had bad credit or did not make enough money to buy a house. They were referred to a subprime lender who worked with them so they could buy the American dream.

Now that there are layoffs and such, some are coming forward and telling of the shady practices of these lenders. Thinking.....thinking.......they are saying that they lied on applications to help secure the loans. That is a felony! If they are so worried about it, why did they not report it when they were doing it? Answer--f*cking greed! They make ba-zillions off these people, but now that their cash cow has dried up, they are so concerned about the practices of the companies that worked within the subprime markets.

Give me a break you little weasel, you are pissed you got laid off and now you are spilling your guts. I say everyone of them needs to be prosecuted for their greed. This is nothing more than a bunch of crooks pouting over the loss of their exploitation of working people. Nothing they are saying is about doing the right thing, just sour grapes from being laid off.

These organizations, IMO, are pigs and deserve to be sent to slaughter.

A Rememberance

Oh God! Here we go! Last week it was Diana and now today there will be endless reports on 9/11. Do the American people need to be reminded of the day? Are they that short sighted that they could forget the day? Why must we be consumed with death?

With that I ask, was it a coincidence that the general's report came the day before 9/11? Or is it just the plan, that is to keep the "Fear Card" in the minds of the people? Where does this whole thing end? For a society that cares little about the aged, we are all consumed with the death of others, why? At what point does the obsession with death become perverted?

Do the people that were killed on that day deserve recognition? Yes, they do! But that is for the families to decide, not the media or anyone else. By turning it into a media circus, they are lessening the deaths.

Just my thoughts on the "day of infamy".
