Lots has been said about the raid on the compound that took 416 kids off of it. A lot of condemnation of the practice has been out there. Why? well, for on ehting it does not fit in with out puritan sensibilities. That is about it!

I heard one media pundit vent his rage over the fact that a 16 yr girl had 4 kids. He went on and on about the abuse that caused this situation. Was it abuse.....after thinking it over and not being part of the investigation, I cannot answer that question...But it did bring a question to mind....What about a 16 yr old living in the country of, say Kentucky, with 4 kids--is that abuse or will it be written off as just a horny little tart?

Personally, I do not understand for the craving of more than one wife.....I mean it is difficult to keep one happy why would anyone want more than the one?

Beyond all the fluff on TV, if this is their religion and they have no problem with it, then it is none of anybody's business but those involved. This sounds like arranged marriages in other countries and the US has no problem looking the other way on those.

It is time for this story to die and the media needs to move on and stop editorializing about others religion.

Professor, What Do You Believe In?

I have been asked this several times by several people and I usually answer with whatever subject we are speaking on. But I want to post my beliefs on the correct direction for the country and the government.

1. People's Power: The power to change our country and develop a society that places human needs over profit rests with the people. The people organized into democratically-controlled organizations and institutions are the wellspring from which a powerful movement for social/economic change must emerge. It is from the experience and struggles of the people that solutions to the severe crises facing our nation will be found. It is with the consent and will of the people that governments are legitimized and leaders empowered.

2. Progressive Unity: A powerful movement for change will emerge when everyday people aligned with grassroots activists, leaders and organizations operating from community, workplace and school power bases comes together in a unified, national, massive and mass-based, independent political movement and party, or an alliance of parties.

3. Economic Justice: Only through such a movement can we build a just and sustainable society in which the gross and obscene concentration of corporate power and personal wealth is overcome by the achievement of basic economic rights for all: secure jobs at living wages; decent, affordable housing; adequate food and clothing; universal health care; quality education; a safe, clean environment; an equitable, progressive tax system which taxes unearned wealth; sustainable food production based upon family farms and farm cooperatives; and protection from economic insecurity caused by disability, old age, sickness, accident or unemployment.

4. Economic Democracy/Workers' Rights: I support workers' rights to organize, to collective bargaining, to strike without the threat of reprisals or replacement, to safe and healthy working conditions, and to receive a living wage, pension and benefits. We support the development of new kind of economy which is democratically run by the people, including at the workplace, and not based on corporate greed.

5. Political Democracy: A democratic economy presupposes a democratic political system. The current electoral system has been privatized and bought up by the corporate rich who fund political campaigns. The electoral system's winner-take-all rules deny racial and political minorities their fair share of representation and power. We support fundamental political reforms aimed at finally realizing the full democratic promise of our country, including: easy access to voting; publicly-financed elections with full ballot access; equal access to media for all candidates; voting rights for immigrants; preferential ballots (ranking candidates in order of preference) for races electing a single candidate; and proportional representation in the election of legislative bodies.

6. Human Rights for All People: I support self-determination and treaty rights for the indigenous, Native nations within the borders of the U.S. and for all peoples, as well as affirmative action and reparations for people of color, women and other victims of historic injustice and oppression. We oppose the scapegoating and repression directed against immigrants, particularly immigrants of color. We are opposed to all forms of discrimination based on race, gender, ethnicity, age, class, religious beliefs or non-belief, sexual orientation, disabilities, health status (including HIV), gender identity, national origin or citizenship. We support full reproductive freedom for women and oppose all forms of violence, particularly against women and children, including domestic violence, rape, incest and sexual harassment.

7. Equal Justice: I oppose the deep-seated racism and class bias that permeate our so-called "criminal justice system." We call for a crash program to re-train and re-structure those police departments that are steeped in a culture of racism, abuse, corruption and brutality. We support the development of a humane criminal sanction system that is genuinely about the rehabilitation of those who have engaged in anti-social activity, that punishes based on behavior, not race, gender, gender identity or class, and which depends on alternatives to incarceration except for those who pose a clear danger to society unless incarcerated. We oppose the racist and class-biased death penalty as cruel and unusual punishment. Drug addiction and mental illness should be treated as issues of public health, not criminal justice. We oppose the use of prison labor for private profit. We support the development of a legal system whose participants-judges, lawyers, court personnel, police, penal staff, jurors-reflect the class, race and gender composition of the affected community and individuals.

8. Peace and Anti-imperialism: I oppose militarism and the culture of violence which permeates our society. We call for major cuts in the military budget and the conversion of weapons-producing industries to socially-needed production. We oppose military intervention and interference abroad, economic coercion, colonialism and neo-colonialism, and political interference in the sovereign affairs of any other nation, including the indigenous Native nations within our own national borders.

9. Sustainable Environment: An ecologically sustainable society requires replacing the endless "growth" compelled by a profit-oriented economy with a democratic economy enabling people to gear production to human needs on a sustainable basis. We support the creation of an ecological economy where everyone's basic material needs are met through the sustainable use of non-toxic and renewable energy and materials. We oppose corporate attempts to shift the liability for environmental damage onto taxpayers; polluters must pay for the restoration of environmental damage. In place of the failed policy of regulating pollution releases, we call for pollution prevention, including a rapid phase-out of chlorinated compounds, trash incinerators, nuclear power plants, and synthetic pesticides and fertilizers. We call for a massive "Jobs for the Environment" program of public investment in the replacement of toxic technologies with ecological alternatives, including renewable energy, energy efficiency, sustainable organic agriculture, mass transit, biodegradable materials, solid waste reduction, recycling and clean composting, and eco-industrial parks for zero-emissions manufacturing.

10. Opposition to Racism and Sexism and Support for Diversity and Equality: People of color and women must be substantial in numbers in the membership and particularly in leadership of our independent politics network. Opposition to racism must be a priority for all people but especially for white people working in their communities to understand, confront and help others to unlearn racism. Men have a special responsibility to cultivate space for open expression of sexual orientation and gender and to provide a positive environment for participation by those of all abilities, sizes and ages.

11. Political Independence: We promote independent candidates and parties who subscribe to the above principles and who are outside of the corporate-dominated, Democratic and Republican parties, who are part of the problem, not the solution. We also support independent working class solidarity and action across international borders to counter the power of the multi-national corporations.

Who Will Be The Uniter?

Now here is a prime example of political doublespeak. Which candidate will be best able to unite the country? First of all, HA! Second, why would it want to be united?

Since the Reagan years, it has been a prime desire to separate the country and its people into "us against them". There is a wealth of plans out there, by both Repubs and Dems, but guess what? There is no solution! All the plans are just rhetoric to keep the whole obscene thing going.

The only united front is the process of privatization. These silly f*cks want the US economy to bomb. They want the government to fail to meet its obligations. Why? Corporations run things and now they are after the ultimate prize, the country. Why else would we allow them to control campaign financing? You lazy sh*ts, the voters, are allowing the outsourcing of the government for profit.

Back to this elusive uniter--there is NOT one--the country CANNOT be united. You fools are asking for it and now you are getting it. Corporate America has become the government. There are few in Congress that do not want this to happen. Pick a candidate and show me one that is not controlled by the corporations. All plans offered to whatever situation you care to look at, is a plan with a strong corporation benefit.

I have talked and posted about how the American people need to take back their country, but the longer they wait the hard and more impossible this becomes. The time is now! stop bitching and take back control.

More Katrina Aftermath

It has been 2+ years since the massive destruction of Katrina has left many people without a home. A recent story has reported that 250,000 people displaced by the storm are still living below poverty line. Another report from my area is that the city council is planning to enforce a law that would make it an infraction to have FEMA trailers in your yard. Plus locals are bitching about the FEMA trailer parks that are dotted across the Gulf Coast.

First of all, poverty seems to be a prime motivator of crime. With a hopeless outlook to the future, crime is not that offensive. No one seems to report on this aspect of the rising crime rate in New Orleans. Someone should! If you have nothing to lose, what could it hurt? I am tired of listening to these sanctimonious a/holes sitting in NY or Washington talking about how disgraceful it is in Washington. How can they have any idea about the plight of the people while staying at 4 star hotels? They need to shut the f*ck up! All of them!

Next, the trailers and the problems they impose. The wealthy that have rebuilt are the ones with the biggest mouths. The trailers mean that the government has failed the people of the Coast. Business and profit do not want these reminders to be around it hurts in the sales pitch for new industry. Out of sight, out of mind--if the trailers go away there will be nothing there to remind the people just how screwed they were by their government.

I say leave them where they are! I want the governments, local, state and national to be embarassed as much and as often as possible. They failed the people and they should be reminded daily of that failure.

DUCK! The Minorities Are Coming!

The Republican front runners are ducking another minority forum. Rudy,Mitt,McCain and Thompson all are ducking the African-American forum in Baltimore. They cite scheduling as the reason they cannot attend. Scheduling problems? Is that not the same lame excuse they used for not appearing at a Hispanic forum?

What are the Repubs afraid of they would purposefully duck out on a voting bloc? Could it be that they have nothing for minorities? The Repubs spend all their time telling us how they want to help companies make all the money and that they have NO idea what to do with the domestic side of the election. Any stand on a domestic issue that they may have gives companies a free hand with the people. Not one of them has a descent domestic stand. They spend all their time playing the Bush Fear Card and none on the policies that would actually help the American people.

So, with that said--Repubs are cowards! They had rather duck out of a fight than stand their ground and tell the people where they stand on the issues.

THEY ARE COWARDS!!!!!! I do not want a coward running my country. How about you?

Iranian President And The Media

The media has been all over the President of Iran and his visit. He has been called many things by many people. I am sure that some of the stuff he has been accused of are accurate, but please I thought we were above the name calling and making fun of some one's appearance. Apparently, I was mistaken.

I heard pundits on TV and read some of the criticism, like he is a buffoon, he is short, he is a horrible dresser, yada. But think about it people! There was another short guy, that the world thought was a buffoon and had this stupid little moustache. If I recall correctly, the world did not laugh for very long and he assisted in the deaths of a lot of people.

May I suggest that you take the man seriously, even though you may not like the guy, he is the leader of a country. By not taking him seriously the consequences could have long ranging problems for many many years.

Okay, the GA meeting, the US would not be seated while the Iranian president spoke. Why? Why act like a spoiled little turd? we may not agree with the man, but try to act like an adult. By not being there, the message is that we do not want to hear anything this man has to say. And that attitude will bite us in the butt, eventually.

The media has played its part well in the drama that the Bush Admin has orchestrated. They have attacked the Iranian president on many sides and done all they could to continue the presumption that he is somehow less than human. The American people have bought into the whole tabloid mentality in handling the Iranian president. A sad indictment of the mentality of the American people!

How To Avoid A Trainwreck

May I see a show of hands from those that have been watching the trainwrecks known as Paris, Britney and Lohan? Just about every- f*cking- body. COOL!

Now let us talk about Latin singing star Shakira. This young lady, OK I will admit a cutie with a great set of hips, but other than the obvious, she has helped build schools and kids programs in her native Columbia. Now she is enrolled in a Western civilization class at UCLA. Her prof, who did not know who she was until recently, has said that she is a very good student. She has taken other classes as well.

So to those that condemn these entertainers like Britney and Lohan, should see that not all are the fluff whores that the gruesome threesome portray. Maybe these air headed bimbos should take a page from Shakira's book on life. Apparently she is handling it better than anyone of the others.

But the more I think about those 3 going back to school, they would just resort to the time honored practice of f*cking your way to an "A". At least, they would be doing something constructive with their lives, instead of trying to go through it on auto pilot.

My hat is off to Shakira for her handling her life. There needs to be more role models like her. it is just ashame that this type of story gets very little play, instead we had rather hear about the personal trainwrecks of the Fluff Whores! Society is just f*cking sick!

Finally They Get A Taste Of War

It would appear that a US plane carrying some Senators and Reps came under enemy fire as they tried to land in Iraq. Good! Now these guys get a taste of war. I will bet the first thing they did was look for a changing room so they could get out of there sh*t stained drawers.

I will look forward to their comments on the situation as they landed and their views on the surge. But please, stop going to Iraq. I am tired of my taxes beoing spent on these a/holes and their fact finding missions. which is just an excuse to go globe hopping. Are there families on this trip? Are their sons comfortable in some hotel in Munich? If they want to go to Iraq, give them a gun and a position to hold. They want to know how the surge is working then let them be part of it, that should calm their concerns.

Partisanship--the loyalty to one party or the other. Sad case of American politics. At least the young are rebelling against being classified and against partisanship. A report says that they do not like being put into categories, since they have different opinions about gays, healthcare, etc. They say that as a whole they share opinions of both parties, and will not be classified as one or the other. They seem to be left leaning on some issues and right leaning on others, at least that is what the report is saying.

Is this good? Well I guess if you like the term Independent it is. But the problem is they WILL NOT go vote, so no matter what they say, they will not stand by it in the voting cycle.

I guess a popular song by john Mayer says it all for them, "waiting for the world to change". They do not want to do it themselves, but instead prefer to wait on change. Tacky, Spuds!

I am so gosh darn happy with the government and the way they handle failure. They never cease to amaze me and keep me on my tippy toes.

Bush has recently stated that he has no confidence, or little confidence, in the presidency of Maliki. (thinking...thinking....) Gee! Really! I must have missed that memo! Hey Bambi--this has been talked about by me and about a ba-zillion other bloggers for over a year. May I suggest that since you are f*cking spying on us all that some of your sneaky petes try reading what us bloggers are saying. Apparently we are a lot smarter than the ass wads you have working for you.

Where does the realization come from? The morning sh*t! Or the morning session with overpaid yes men that are afraid to have set of nuts? Hey Americans! You voted for this guy, how has that worked out for you?

Also the media, they are just so gosh darn on the ball, that they need an award--thinking of giving the whole industry the Assie Award--since they keep their collective heads up their collective asses--they deserve it. Not one of them has enough guts to go look for bloggers that are on the ball, instead they stay with the bullsh*t artist. Why? They are collegues and deserve attention, not the fact that they are accurate, but more that they are just collegues and as such are more in-tuned than others. Well--BULLSH*T! I say to all the media--they are TOOLS and know it but yet to keep their access to whatever they will adjust their opinion to stay in line with the corporate one. Hopefully, you are a frequent reader and know that this feature is where I rant about words and the way they used by society, media, et al.

In todays news the Cat 5 Hurricane Dean is all the talk. I even heard the mnedia call it "a potentially catastrophic" storm. "Potentially catastrophic"? a Cat 3 storm, Katrina, did $81.5 billion in damage and Dean is a Cat 5. So I think the use of the word "potentially" is pretty f*cking stupid!

Do you recall this bridge that fell in Minnesota? 13 people died and the media has called it a catastrophic occurrance. Again 13 people died, a sad thing indeed, but a catastrophy? Again, it was not a catastrophy, it was a damn shame and could have been avoided, but to use the term catastrophic is just plain f*cking stupid!

I say--MEDIA! Stop assigning titles to diasters! Just report the f*cking news and let the knowledge speak for itself.


On a side note---the governor of Minn said on CNN that the down bridge was costing the economy $21 million. thinking...thinking...was it a toll bridge? Where and why are they losing that much money? Is there no other bridges across the river that can be used? This story is starting to look like a continuation of the bullsh*t started with Paris and Lohan.

A Bridge Too Far-----Page Two

Have you heard that a bridge in Minnesota collapsed? All day the same story over and over and over........

Congress has authorized $250 million for recovery....Recovery? What recovery? clean-up maybe, but recovery?

Was it the only bridge across the Mississippi? Was there a wide path of destruction? Were homes and businesses destroyed? What f*cking recovery? The people will be inconvienced by having to drive around the site. What they gonna get paid for the drive? What recovery?

Guess what? They peed all over that promise the first day, by reporting the same story over and over and over.........All the news I can use. BULLSH*T!

Now back to the bridge----Some are blaming Bush--maybe, but not really, as much as I would like to, I cannot. However the State can be blamed, for they were told about the condition of the bridge 2 yrs ago. It was not really that important. But in the meantime they did find the money to finance a new stadium for the Twins, who, BTW, are owned by a billionaire. I guess the priorities are different when you are dealing with a billionaire, huh?

I would imagine there will be a plethora of lawsuitsa once everyone settles down and the lawyers come out with cards in hand.

Time to move on, this is a local story now, the media has interviewed everyone within a 100 miles of the site , to include a couple of catfish.

Guess what? Do you recall the "abstinance" pledge that they pushed into the schools? You recall the sex ed of the Bush Admin, right? It worked so well that the incidents of oral sex rose by 60% and there was a 40% rise in anal sex. Good job guys!
