Virtual border fence in Ariz. a failure - The Boston Globe

Virtual border fence in Ariz. a failure - The Boston Globe

I was gonna summarize this story for my readers, but hell, you got to read the whole thing. It is the brain child of Boeing and the $20 million is a flush down the toilet. The story they will scrap it and go with a new idea and concept.

All I can ask is, did they try it out before they bought it? If not, why not? If it does not work as advertised can the taxpayer get their money back?

I am working on a new award for my Blog to give every year for this type of waste and stupidity. I already have the "Assies".

Political Quote Of The week

Just a thought on immigration, from the founder of the AFL.

Every effort to enact immigration legislation must expect to meet a number of hostile forces and, in particular, two hostile forces of considerable strength. One of these is greed composed of corporation employers who desire to employ physical strength (broad backs) at the lowest possible wage and who prefer a rapidly revolving labor supply at low wages to a regular supply of American wage earners at fair wages. 'The other is ethnic identity politics composed of racial groups in the United States who oppose all restrictive legislation because they want the doors left open for an influx of their countrymen regardless of the menace to the people of their adopted country. - Samuel Gompers, founder and president of the American Federation of Labor (AFL)

Same Song--Different Year

This is a piece I wrote to send to Lou Dobbs about a year ago when he became a rabid spokesman for the anti-immigration people. I have also posted it on a few forums.

What Is New With The Immigration Thing?

NOT A G*DD*MN THING! Does that answer the f*cking question? Every agrument that is being made today has been made in the past. Let me say that again, EVERY argument that is being made today has been made in the past. I have tried to be neutral in this, but enough is enough! I am personally, sick of the sanctimonious bullshit!

When exactly was that? I am glas you asked! About 30 years ago we had an influx of immigrants, they were called refugees and not illegals and guess what the same objections were voiced then as now. They will take American jobs. They will be a drain on society. They do not speak english. They are demanding benefits without pay their dues for the priviledge. Yada, f*cking yada.

Who are these people that I am accusing of this? The Vietnamese! Maybe you are too young to recall, but nothing been said is NEW! Back in the day, everybody had an opinion. I guess about the only difference was the wording of the description of the people. They were refugees. Today the people are called illegals. The wording is everything. It is more politically correct to use illegals and it makes for good fodder for the talk shows. Other than that there is NO difference.

How do I know all this? I lived through it! I do not need Google to refresh my memory. As a Vietnam vet I was one of the opponents of the mass influxion of 'refugees'. I saw them recieve all sorts of perks for coming here; perks that as a Viet vet I could not get. As a matter of fact, the Viets were given free shrimp boats and free gas so that they could become useful residents of the Coast. Local shrimpers were pissed, they started saying that they would starve because the government did not care about their plight. Several really ugly confrontations were gonna happen. Does any of this sound familiar? Well, no one starved to death and eventually all learned to play nice with each other. I was vocal and I was dead set against them coming to this country. Even to this day, my town has an on call linguist because not all Vietnamese speak english. Even today, In my town there are bi-lingual signs, etc, does not seem to be a problem, so why is a sign in Spanish a problem. The Viets were not forced to become citizens and some to this day still are not. The younger ones became citizens but not all the parents. Do you people that are yelling the loudest about the drawbacks of all the Mexicans worried about the others? F*ck No! You learned to live with it. Do it again!

As with the Vietnamese, the problem the US is facing now, will be just fine. Last the mexicans are working from day one, most of the time. It was not so with the Vietnamese, but it all worked out in the wash and the Vietnamese became valued members of American society. It will be the same again! This immigration thing is just away to keepd the American people focused on something besides the declining quality of life in this country. It is working and you people are letting it succeed.

The Mexicans like the Viets are hard working people and that should be all that concerns anyone. But NOOOOOOO! You have to turn this into an ugly debate that is not and will not solve the problem.

So yes, I have an opinion and it does and did not matter. Mine like yours does not matter. All I can say is, welcome to the f*cking debate!

Immigration--Again!

Well in case you have been in the bathroom playing with yourself--the Pres. immigration bill has failed again! Bush has lost ALL support except for handful of loyals. His War is losing, his immigration has lost, etc, yada.

What is next? Maybe Bush should just go to Crawford and shovel sh*t. I mean he has got to be good at it because he spent so much shovlling it onto the American people.

PEOPLE! Time for a change! STOP! awaiting for these turds to change! It is up to you! Finally move from the herd and exercise your power. Change is needed and you can do it!

To immigrate or Not

Recently, the Congress has passed an immigration bill, and as predicted some like some not so. The debate will continue among all concerned, both pro and con, until it slips away into the night.

CNN's Lou Dobbs has made it his life's work to bring the immigration thing to light. He has written books and done countless shows on the subject.. But recently he out did himself. I think he sees that his bread and butter may be in jeopardy so he did a report on leprosy. He made the point that this disease could be coming across the border with the illegal immigrants. And that if unchecked could become a problem, a health problem for the US strained healthcare resources.

Well my facts show that 70% of leprosy cases are in three countries, India, Nepal and Myanmar. And that there were small amounts in Mexico and even smaller amounts in the US. It would seem that Mr. Dobbs is using a Bush tactic--the Fear Card! Since he is an outspokened opponent of the "illegals" and considered by some to be well informed, then he will be heard by those that will use such hysterical bullshit to their advantage.

I would like to see Mr. Dobbs, since his subject maybe drying up, find a new crusade to go on--like the welfare of handicapped vets. It is just a thought and probably would not sell many books, but it would be a righteous crusade nonetheless.

Immigration 101

WOW! We have a proposal for the immigration problem--the Congress is mashing out a compromise, probably as we speak. Opponents on both sides will not like it--that's politics. All pundits have there stances and the common man has his/her stance, whether good or bad, they listen to people like Lou Dobbs. Who, BTW, if there is ever an immigration deal hammered, will have nothing to say and he may slip into obsurity as did the show "Crossfire".

There is a simple way to look at the problem and somewhere an economist is preparing a multi-page diatribe, citing every known axiom, law and whatever else he can find to dispute my simple explanation. Read them if you want a good sleeping pill. But regardless, there is a simple explanation to what will happen.

NO BEES + NO IMMIGRANTS = NO FOOD!

I suggest that you prepare for the worse. If you like to eat, then I suggest that you redo your budget for the grocery bite will be heavy.
