When Will It End?

Well if Clinton is telling the truth, it will end at the convention. CRAP! Do you mean that we must hear the same song a dance for another couple months? Crap! It is whining! Why can she not stick to the issues? I know winning is FAR MORE IMPORTANT than the issues. Once again she has shown that the campaign is all about her and not what is needed for the people of this country.

I once said that she appeared as a harpy and boy did I catch hell for that.....I was accused of being a sexist, which I found a bit humorous coming from people who do not know me and definitely do not know Greek mythology. May I suggest that one look up what a harpy is and they will see that the analysis is pretty accurate. I stand by that analysis and if you are too lazy to find the definition then you may attack again. Or better yet, YOU CAN BITE ME!

Samantha Power Profile

The woman has my vote--she is highly qualified and intelligent. Personally, I would have kept her on and found a way to shut the Clinton camp up.

Samantha Power is the Anna Lindh Professor of Practice of Global Leadership and Public Policy, based at the Carr Center for Human Rights Policy, where she was the founding executive director [1998-2002]. She is the recent author of Chasing the Flame: Sergio Vieira de Mello and the Fight to Save the World (Penguin Press, 2008), a biography of the UN envoy killed by a suicide bomber in Iraq in 2003. Her book "A Problem from Hell": America and the Age of Genocide (New Republic Books) was awarded the 2003 Pulitzer Prize for general nonfiction, the 2003 National Book Critics Circle Award for general nonfiction, and the Council on Foreign Relations' Arthur Ross Prize for the best book in U.S. foreign policy. Power's New Yorker article on the horrors in Darfur, Sudan, won the 2005 National Magazine Award for best reporting. In 2007, Power became a foreign policy columnist at Time magazine. From 1993 to 1996 she covered the wars in the former Yugoslavia as a reporter for the U.S. News and World Report, the Boston Globe, and The New Republic. She remains a working journalist, reporting from such places as Burundi, East Timor, Kosovo, Rwanda, Sudan, and Zimbabwe, and contributing to the Atlantic Monthly, The New Yorker and The New York Review of Books. Power is the editor, with Graham Allison, of Realizing Human Rights: Moving from Inspiration to Impact. A graduate of Yale University and Harvard Law School, she moved to the United States from Ireland at the age of nine. She spent 2005 to 2006 working in the office of Senator Barack Obama.

CHUQ-ian Observation

Bill Clinton has gone ballistic several times in the past. First was in South Carolina where he throws out the race card against a fellow Democrat. Then in Nevada he accuses Obama's people of trying to intimidate caucus goers. And it continues on and on, lately he has got in the face of an Obama support and verbally attacks a pro-life supporter at a stump speech. And he is still doing his damage to his wife's campaign. No one seems willing to make him shut up. The negativity from Bill and other surrogates and even Hillary, is not winning her much support. The people are weary of all the Washington negativism.

I have an idea--put together a team of noted psychologists and let them follow Bill around and listen and watch his actions and words. Then let them submit a report on his mental attitude. There are a wealth of questions on why he does and says the things he does on the stump.

Is he jealous?
Does he miss the limelight?
Is he just angry?
Does he have a personal agenda?
Does he really want wife to win?
Is he just defending wife?

There is a wealth of question that need to be asked about Bill Clinton and his effectiveness as a campaigner for his wife. Personal opinion, he is not helping his wife's case to be the presidential nominee. He is doing more harm than good. He is sabotaging her campaign, more so than the moronic statements from people like Wolfson and others.

This study could be a valuable tool to determine if spouses are really needed in a campaign for president. In this case, Bill is definately not needed, his statements are just plain dumb.

The Fall of the House of Clinton - HUMAN EVENTS

I found this article while doing research and wanted to post it here so that my readers could see it. Cal thomas is pretty good in his observations.

California Fire Hardships

Hardships? What are those hardships? Part of an AP story, "With some of the worst wildfires dying down, many Southern Californians lucky enough to find their homes still standing could nevertheless face hardships for weeks to come, including polluted air, no electricity and no drinking water.

Power lines are down in many burned-over areas, and the smoke and ash could irritate people's lungs for as long as the blazes keep burning.

Randy and Aimee Powers returned to this mountain community in San Diego County on Friday to find their home without electricity or water, after fire trucks drained the town's reservoir."

I am sorry for their losses, but what are the hardships? They can find shelter with no prob. There is plenty of food and places to eat, places to stay and etc. Government has done everything but read them a bedtime story, so what will the hardships be?

The hardships will be emotional and that is something the individual has to deal with. Other than that they have it made!

The Professor Rants

I spend a lot of time trying to give people a perspective, a different perspective; I read and listen and analyze, but all that work is to no avail. I have 5 blogs that I give my slant on world affairs and such, but no matter how you promote their is little to no participation.

I also go to a couple of discussion forums to maybe exchange views with other and maybe to make them think about different things. These sources of aggravation are amazing, you have some that are willing to debate an issue and then you have those that want to be rude and insulting. There are more insults than debates, but I keep going trying to promote my perspectives. It is getting to the point that I am gonna chuck it all into a dumpster somewhere.

I have a couple of people that are reading and commenting on my blogs and to them I say thank you and I appreciate their participation, but if others are reading my blogs, they do not post. I am beginning to think that it is that they are afraid of a face to face, that they will hide in a forum and jump out and insult and then slink back into the crowd.

I just wish that I could get more people reading my blogs and maybe some of them would actually participate, that is why I started so many of them. Dreaming I guess, but it is better than not giving a sh*t!

John Edwards, The Populist?

At a recent meeting of the INKWELL Discussion Group, the INKWELL 3, it was decided that from time to time a statement on the candidates will be released. We will begin this series with our opinion on the Democratic candidate John Edwards.

It has been said that Edwards is really a leftist, a populist. His ideas on healthcare, foreign policy and so forth are said to be from the extreme left wing of the party. To this I say--BUNK! This candidate is NO leftist; he is however a staunch capitalist and there lies his true nature.

Here is my take on the candidate, Edwards. He is small minded, parochial, conformist, acquisitive, and easily manipulated by the power base. He tries to be anti-intellectual, scapegoats easy/abstract targets; he is charismatic, yet appears to be approachable and promotes small scale capitalism. All this plays well with the public, but IMO, is not enough for the masses to support him. His ambulance chasing past will come out more and more and will turn off the voter more and more.

If the voter is on the left then I suggest they continue to find another candidate, for Edwards is no LEFTIST!

When Is It Time To Let Them Die?

What is it about people that have this morbid streak that refuses to let people die? Elvis, Di, so on. We must relive their lives over and over and over....OK Di was a wonderful person, a good mother and do-da, but she is dead. Why not let her die in peace? We are bombarded with stories, she died 10 yrs ago. Why? Is the retention of information by the people so bad that they must be reminded over and over ..........?

Elvis---the same. Only he died 30 yrs ago and he is still a big draw. Somebody is making money on his memory. Let him die. If he was that important to the people--he WILL be remembered.

Do you remember Audrey Hepburn? Yes, she was a movie star. But beyond that she was a great humanitarian that was a special envoy for the UN. Do you remember anything she did? Probably not! She was not the glamour that you seek. She was just a great person that did not want to publicize everything she did.

You let her die, now when will it be time to let the rest die?

A ChuqSpeak

Another ChuqSpeak and have a lovely day.

Partisanship--the loyalty to one party or the other. Sad case of American politics. At least the young are rebelling against being classified and against partisanship. A report says that they do not like being put into categories, since they have different opinions about gays, healthcare, etc. They say that as a whole they share opinions of both parties, and will not be classified as one or the other. They seem to be left leaning on some issues and right leaning on others, at least that is what the report is saying.

Is this good? Well I guess if you like the term Independent it is. But the problem is they WILL NOT go vote, so no matter what they say, they will not stand by it in the voting cycle.

I guess a popular song by john Mayer says it all for them, "waiting for the world to change". They do not want to do it themselves, but instead prefer to wait on change. Tacky, Spuds!

A ChuqSpeak

Hopefully, you are a frequent reader and know that this feature is where I rant about words and the way they used by society, media, et al.

In todays news the Cat 5 Hurricane Dean is all the talk. I even heard the mnedia call it "a potentially catastrophic" storm. "Potentially catastrophic"? a Cat 3 storm, Katrina, did $81.5 billion in damage and Dean is a Cat 5. So I think the use of the word "potentially" is pretty f*cking stupid!

Do you recall this bridge that fell in Minnesota? 13 people died and the media has called it a catastrophic occurrance. Again 13 people died, a sad thing indeed, but a catastrophy? Again, it was not a catastrophy, it was a damn shame and could have been avoided, but to use the term catastrophic is just plain f*cking stupid!

I say--MEDIA! Stop assigning titles to diasters! Just report the f*cking news and let the knowledge speak for itself.

On a side note---the governor of Minn said on CNN that the down bridge was costing the economy $21 million. thinking...thinking...was it a toll bridge? Where and why are they losing that much money? Is there no other bridges across the river that can be used? This story is starting to look like a continuation of the bullsh*t started with Paris and Lohan.

Thanx I feel better now; a good bitch is always a good thing. Damn, I love my job!

Racially Accepted

I have been watching and thinking about the dating sites that we see on TV and on-line. The one that really caught my eye was e-Harmony. The say for $39 and the filling out of a questionaire you to can find your perfect mate. Well look at the site, from what I have read is that at least 1 million people have been turned down since it began. If true, why?

One thing that comes to mind is that it must be racially correct. Look at the couples white and white, black and black, asian and asian; no where do they depict a mixed couple or even a gay couple. Apparently if you fill out the questionaire and prefer someone other than your race or someone of the same gender, you are no accepted.

It is pretty silly. People will be people, but this group wants to keep the races pure.

It is time to ask the hard questions!

Why do most prescription drugs end in "X"? Like Celebrex, Advanix, etc. I am sure it is some grand marketing scheme, but it escapes me right now.

Just a thought!

ChuqSpeak

This is my first post in this new feature. It will show up just about anywhere. So beware.

The general that did not do the right thing about Pat Tillman; he may lose a star and some money. Why? Because he gave "misleading information". (thinking....thinking....)

The "elites" give misleading information; the average person lies.

But wait there is more!

Ditech has this mortgage ad on TV where they push that it is a 6.125% loan but yet it is a 6.403% APR. Now which is it?

Guess what? Do you recall the "abstinance" pledge that they pushed into the schools? You recall the sex ed of the Bush Admin, right? It worked so well that the incidents of oral sex rose by 60% and there was a 40% rise in anal sex. Good job guys!

Pope Attacked

Today while the Pope was riding in his "pope-mobile" across the square and unknown assailant tried to jump into the car. He was thwarted in his attempt by the Pope's security dudes.

After hearing this I got to thinking about world events. If Osama's words cause others to attack, then it is possible that the words of the repub candidates on religion, empowered this guy to attack the Pope.

Just a thought!

Personal Thought

For some weeks now we have been watching the plight of the 2 whales up a river in California. They caught the attention of many Americans and these people were worried about their welfare. They did make too much headway going back to sea until they were given antibiotics for their wounds received from boat props. After a couple of days they started back down the river to the ocean and have seemed to have made it, for they have disappeared. All in all good news. Right?

I know I have been called doom and gloom by some, but I need to ask the question. Did we do them any favors by helping them back to the ocean? I know, I know, you asking yourself, "what is this fool talking about"? Ok, let say they made it to the Pacific and they go to their feeding grounds and rebuild their strength, which would be a wonderful thing. But, consider this--did we really help them? I mean we saved them from dying in the Sacramento river, only to send them back to sea to possibly face Japanese harpoons.

Soo, I ask did we really do them a favor?

Just a thought.

Observation

Has anyone but me noticed that the Pope, if he wore a dark cloak with a hood, would look alot like the Emperor on Star Wars?

Just an observation for 23/05/07

Also they are saying that Viagra may help prevent jetlag. So you might not be overly tired but part of your anatomy would be up and ready. How can one sleep with that problem?

18 May 2007

Personal Observation

There is lots of lip service going on in Washington, in newspapers and on the media about the proposal of the Iraqi government that wanted to take a two month break. Of course, the Pres boys do not want this, they want them to stay and hammer out the oil law, about the only thing the Admin is inyersted in, at this time. (I have covered this ridiculous topic previously.) All the talk is that if they take the break the American people will not stand for it. Well, that is a flippin' lie! The admoin is worried that if they takes this break, the American people will be all over the occurrance and demand that the troops come home. Something the White House fears more than anything else.

All that being said, put yourself in their position (the Iraqis). If you lived with all the violence and death daily, would you want a break? Please, do not use their concern for the Iraqi people, for that is about as lame as lame can get. It was NEVER about the Iraqi people!

OK, let us look at this from another angle. Does your representative take his/her breaks? Even when there is crucial bills to be considered? I say they stay in Washington until ALL necessary bills are formulated and given to the pres for his consideration. But, no, they work 4 maybe 5 days a week, about a total of 4 hours a day and take off whenever they feel "stressed".

What is that old saying from your childhood, when you point a finger, there is four others pointing back. If they cannot understand the necesswity for a break from the crap in Baghdad, then I suggest our representatives go and spend some quality time in Baghdad and maybe then they will understand and shut the hell up.

Yet Another Rant

The new US Ambassador to Iraq went on camera and made sure that everyone knew we were not meeting with Syria, we had an encounter. Thinking.....Thinking....WTF? They sat down a talked for thirty minutes, more or less, but it was not a meeting. So that means that anything less than an hour, or so is not a meeting but an encounter and in such is not suppose to be productive. Is that about it?

Words and Phrases that need to be banned from news reporting.

Benchmarks

Boots on the ground

Way forward

and my personal fav--stay the course

The reason for banning is simple, they are idiotic, nonsensical and just plain f*cking stupid!

Is there a thought? The Professor awaits!

News UpDate

Rice has said that the US has no plans or expectations on the meetings with Iraq and its neighbors. NO SH*T? Cannot understand that since ev ery other decision in the area has been so well thought out.

Why would the US attend a meeting of concerned countries with the war in Iraq and not have an idea on what to say? After all who started the bullshit?

Are the American people getting their money's worth out of these.....(thinking).....representatives?

A Daily Rant

Just a few thoughts I had spinning around in my head.

When did poker become a sport? I missed it.

How long will the simpltons be inthralled with Britney, Smith, Gere and Baldwin?

NASCAR--drive fast and turn left--and how is that entertaining?

When will national news media report on issues that actually pertain to the nation? Most of it now is regional news and I personally do not give a sh*t about it. I does not involve me or my area move on. I mean I thought there were local stations for that type of news. I could be mistakened.

Reality TV---never mind, my opinion contains too many 4 letter words.

UFC--will it be the next gladiator games?

Why are a dog's lips black?
