Found this one, but for once it is not necessarily a statement that is anal, but this time it is the idea that is so.

Never mind the radiation: British contingency planners worried there would be a dramatic shortage of tea in the aftermath of a nuclear attack, recently declassified documents showed Monday.

The shortfall of the staple British beverage would be "very serious" if the country were to come under attack with atomic and hydrogen bombs, said according to a memo drafted between 1954 and 1956.

"The tea position would be very serious with a loss of 75 percent of stocks and substantial delays in imports and with no system of rationing it would be wrong to consider that even one ounce (28 grams) per head per week could be ensured," it said.

Now I would say that this is the most important reason not to nuke Iran, not to obliterate the country that Clinton has stated.

Is It Iran?

Is it just me or has the rhetoric coming out of Washington edged up a notch on Iran?

CIA Director Michael Hayden said Wednesday that Iranian policy, at the highest government level, is to help kill Americans in Iraq, the boldest pronouncement of Iranian involvement by a U.S. official to date.

The Pentagon said Wednesday Iran is continuing to provide weapons and other material to Taliban insurgents in Afghanistan, in addition to its alleged continuing support for Shiite militias in Iraq. Officials spoke to reporters Wednesday shortly after a second U.S. aircraft carrier strike group arrived in the Persian Gulf. VOA's Al Pessin reports from the Pentagon.

Iran will likely have nuclear bomb technology in 2008, Transportation Minister Shaul Mofaz said Wednesday, citing an updated Israeli intelligence assessment.

In the past, the general consensus in the intelligence community has been that Iran had hit some technical difficulties with enrichment and that its attainment of nuclear capability was much further off. In fact, a recent Israeli Military Intelligence assessment showed that the "point of no return" with regards to Iran going nuclear was 2010.

These are all quotes from sources in this day's news. Are they trying to do this to influence the political process? Or is it just words to try and bluff Iran?

Iran's Sex Police

We have a sex police, but we call it the "vice squad" and in Iran there is something similar. Gen Zarei was in charge of enforcing Iran's strict anti-vice laws, which include a ban on prostitution.

Why do I bring this up?

Tehran's police chief, who was reportedly discovered in a brothel, has been arrested, it has been confirmed.

Local media have reported that General Reza Zarei was found with six naked women in a house of prostitution in the Iranian capital last month.

You see the US is not the only country where it politician like their hookers. LOL

Can You Say, Gulf Of Tonkin?

High speed boats attack or attempt to attack US warships. Does that sound familiar? try 02 Aug 1964, Gulf of Tonkin, when the US ship Maddox was attacked by high speed NVA boats. It help lead the way for a US build up in S. Vietnam.

Bush has issued a warning to Iran over the recent incident in the straits of Hormuz. He has basically said "do not do it again". Ok, I am a skeptic! But WMD was a lie. This admin has been lying since 9/11. I know one would think I was a conspiracy theory freakizoid, but things are not always as they are portrayed by the govt. Sorry guys. I lost blood in Vietnam. The country has lost too many innocent lives. I just do not want to see history repeat itself.

All i ask is that you check the facts and then make your decision. logical thinking is not onew of the US greatest assets, but it should be.

Russia Delivers First Nuke Fuel

Okay as of yesterday, Russia has delivered the first of the shipments of nuke fuel to Iran to be used for commercial nuke power. OK, now what will the US do? Will Bush use it to ratch up the anti-Iran rhetoric?

Okay, the Bush admin has said the Iran must stop support for Hezbollah and Hamas, But in 2003 Iran offered to do just that but Bush was riding a wave of patriotism and decided to ignore the offer. Now they want to appear to be taking the higher ground. At that time Iran also offered to help against al-Qaeda as well. Again this was not acceptable to the Admin at that time.

The time is now if we are to engage Iran in helping with the region. My question is will the opportunity be missed? Again?

Iran's rush For Nukes.

OOPS! That was bullsh*t! The newest NIE states that with high confidence they can say that Iran stop the pursuit of a nuke weapon in 2003. Ok, that is good news, but not for Bush. What can he say after predicting Iran with a nuke would start WWIII? well he says nothing has changed--Iran is still a threat---they are still thinking about a nuke weapon---so now the US is the thought police? They are a threat because onbe day they may consider a nuke weapon...thinking....thinking....I got nothing--this is a dumbass statement.

Now ask yourself this--when did Bush and the Boyz know this? Was it told to them months ago? Like before he made his WWIII statement? Hadley, a Bush spokesman, said that he was pretty sure that it was known a few months ago. Then Bush did know his statement was bullsh*t! That fear card is a very useful tool in politics. Bush sold the idea of a WWIII, like Apple seels an IPod.

New War Budget

The new budget requested by the Pres., $50 billion, has within it a provision for $88 million to equip the B-2 stealth bomber with 30,000 pound bunker buster bombs. The White House told Congress the bombs were an "urgent request from commanders for their operational needs". Thinking...thinking....now where would we need such a bomb? Al-Anbar--not really! Baghdad? NAH! Afghanistan--probably not. then what would the "urgent operational needs" be?

These types of bombs would come in handy for the destruction of....say....nuke facilities. Could that be the "urgent operational need" the admin was speaking of? "Urgent"? But they would not be used as a diplomatic tool would they? Doubtful! So why then are they desperately needed? Just asking.

Deja-Vu--All Over Again!

Yes I am an old fart so I remember Iran on so many levels. I remember that in 1953, the Us helped the Shah return to power, which lasted until 1979. I remember the tactics of brutality the Shah used to oppress the people of Iran; all with the knowledge of the US. His brutal rule was dotted with executions, imprisonments, and lack of personal freedoms.

Does any of this sound familiar in any way? Protests by students and businessmen and women. All violently crapped on by the Iranian secret police, the savak, I believe. I recall in 1978 when hostages were taken at the US embassy in Tehran. I remember the flight of the Shah from Iran when he lost total control and had to go on vacation in 1979, never to return. And I remember the mullahs taking the reigns of power and here we are today.

Why do I bring this all up? Take a good look at Pakistan. It is all happening again. the protests, the arresting of hundreds, the crapping on demonstrations, and the whole time the US is behind their man in the country 100%.The only, ONLY difference is Pakistan has 20-30 nukes and Iran did not.

This is one a constant time loop. There is nothing new. It has all been done before. Now ask yourself, just how did that work out before, for the US? Time to wake up! The US and its attack dogs are causing a major problem in Pakistan and the fundamentalist Muslims could gain a major upper hand in the area.

If they do, the US has NO ONE to blame but the man in the dark suit in the big white house.

Bush's New Attack Dog

Bush was only at the podium for about 15 minutes and everyone I talked with wondered why he did not mention Iran more and the problems with the nuke thing. I too wondered but then my mental questions were answered. The French President took the podium and began attacking Iran. Time and time again he would come back to the Iran situation. Blair is gone and hopefully soon forgotten, but now Bush has a new attack dog to do all his dirty work for him, that is Sarkozy! He even threatened Iran with war at one point. We are heading down a road that will lead only to the dead end of war. Someone has got to step up and stop this madness before these little mental midgets do something that will effect the whole world adversely.

When will the tiny minds of Americans grasp the horrible consequence of these actions? It is pure stupidity to ignore or defend this bullsh*t! It will NOT make the US a safer and more secure place! You might want to pay attention, a good start would be to remove your head from your ass.

Iranian President And The Media

The media has been all over the President of Iran and his visit. He has been called many things by many people. I am sure that some of the stuff he has been accused of are accurate, but please I thought we were above the name calling and making fun of some one's appearance. Apparently, I was mistaken.

I heard pundits on TV and read some of the criticism, like he is a buffoon, he is short, he is a horrible dresser, yada. But think about it people! There was another short guy, that the world thought was a buffoon and had this stupid little moustache. If I recall correctly, the world did not laugh for very long and he assisted in the deaths of a lot of people.

May I suggest that you take the man seriously, even though you may not like the guy, he is the leader of a country. By not taking him seriously the consequences could have long ranging problems for many many years.

Okay, the GA meeting, the US would not be seated while the Iranian president spoke. Why? Why act like a spoiled little turd? we may not agree with the man, but try to act like an adult. By not being there, the message is that we do not want to hear anything this man has to say. And that attitude will bite us in the butt, eventually.

The media has played its part well in the drama that the Bush Admin has orchestrated. They have attacked the Iranian president on many sides and done all they could to continue the presumption that he is somehow less than human. The American people have bought into the whole tabloid mentality in handling the Iranian president. A sad indictment of the mentality of the American people!

A Chuq-ian Observation

Alrighty then, let us begin. N Korea was a bad boy and the US whacked its pee-pee and now they seem to be negotiating in sort of good faith. What made NK a threat? They have a nuke and tested it. N. Korea has nothing of value to the US. Who did they threaten in reality? According to Bush, everybody. Anyway the point is the US has gotten NK into negotiations. And they seem to be a successful meeting.

OK, now we go to Iran. One of the "Axis Of Evil", according to Bush. They do not have nuke but they are trying to acquire it. At least according to Bush, but instead of trying negotiationms they prefer to confront Iran on many fronts. If meetings worked with NK why is it assumed it woll not work for Iran?

Apparently Bush thinks that confrontation and sanctions and such will bring to leadership in Iran down. I say it will not. All this confrontation will just help the mullahs remain in power. When the people start feeling the brunt of the sanctions they will turn to the mullahs for guidence and that cannot be good for the country. Right now the people are really not happy with the government. Especially thye young they seem to be more progressive and open to the west. But the government has executed 118 people who pissed off the mullahs, 150 are waiting for some form of execution, about 20,000 are in prison for dress codes violations and about 6000 are in prison for sexual crimes, like sex and such. None of this is playing to good with young Iranians. Maybe thye US should start considering a possible play with the young progressive Iranians, for they are the ace in the hole that the US has been looking for in the past.

A deal with Iran is possible, but not by the confrontation bullsh*t of the presaent administration.

Turn Up The Pressure

The US is preparing to designate Iran's Revolutionary Guards force as a foreign terrorist unit, officials say.

If confirmed, this will be the first time official armed units of a sovereign state are included in the list of banned terrorist groups.

The classification would allow the US to target the force's finances.

The US has repeatedly accused Iran of destabilising Iraq and Afghanistan, blaming the Revolutionary Guards for supplying and training insurgents.

I am sorry, but I missed a memo! If Iran is one of the infamous "Axis Of Evil" would that not include any and all units of the government? Or maybe it was a bumpersticker after all. Whatya think? I am so sorry but where do the pundits in Washington draw a line?

Really sports fans, this is stupid! all it is is a ratching up of the pressure on Iran. Their people will bre targeted and they will probably react. Sounds like a plan to me. Let me see, for months now the Admin has been issuing so many accussations at Iran that it did not react well, so now the plan is to target their people. Now ask what will be the outcome? you may not like the answers you will arrive at.

This may be a mistake or it may be a bluff. Either way out troops will be tested again.

What Did You Do In The War, Daddy?

Unless you have been in coma, you have heard about the capture of Brits and now their release. A happy ending.

A few points--their meeting with the press one Brit had to read his comments from a cue card, Why? It was only 13 day ordeal, and these guys and gal have to refresh their memories on what happened. Or another possibility is they are lying. A further plan to incite oiutrage over Iran's actions and a justification.

Now, we say vids of them playing ping pong, eating, playing chess, yukking it up, not one looked as if they were being coerced. They ate not like a prisoner on limiter rations, but rather a casual meal. You would think that if things were not comfortable, they would try to send a message in the vid that would alert the world. I saw none!

Now the cash for story thing. I do ot know of any active military person that is allowed to cash in on experiences during active duty. This smells like a propaganda ploy. I will watch to see how similar the stories are; that will point to the truth.

IMO, what we have here is an attempt to continue building the case for action against Iran. It is coming, just a matter of time.

Update--The UK MofD has had second thoughts about allowing the troops to get cash for story. There has been a huge backlash.
